This is an absolutely unforgettable experience. This day trip has it all: adventure, pristine tropical rivers, waterfalls, cave swimming, beautiful scenery, adrenaline, fun and even some archeology/history along the day.
We will swim through caves, go under cool waterfalls, and even cliff jump from cliffs ranging from 8 to 27 feet (optional of course.) The place is almost undiscovered, not like El Yunque where you can easily encounter hundreds of people in a single day. Mostly just locals here or people who come with us! The drive from the meeting point to the rainforest caves is about one hour. Along the way you will see the real Puerto Rico, quite removed from the tourist area. You will see a more rural way of life where the locals are connected with nature. The scenery along the drive and hike is absolutely incredible. Once the adventure begins, we will take you through the jungle. We grew up doing this and know the area like the back of our hands, so you are safe with us.

Charco Azul and its other-worldly views is something that you simply cannot miss. Swimming through caves is exhilarating. At the end we go cliff jumping (optional) for even more adrenaline. This visit includes the Arenales Caves as well.

5.00It you want to experience Puerto Rico like a true native, this is the tour for you! It’s a bit of work to get down the canyon to reach the river and water, so make sure you have good non slip closed water shoes, a change of clothes and towels (as you will be getting completely wet), and no fear of heights! Alexis, our local tour guide, made sure we all made it safely through, over and under all obstacles, always lending a hand or a lift where necessary, while at the same time taking fantastic Instagram worthy pics and videos for everyone. Alexis, born and raised in Vegas Baja, where the Charco Azul is located, and where legendary Puertorican celebrity and worldwide phenom Bad Bunny hails from, delights is showcasing this very special place in P.R. You are also treated at the end with delicious pastries and a visit to a natural spring in downtown Vega Baja which has been turned into a beautiful a community swimming pool/picnic area. This is super clear, clean water with swings to launch you into the water surrounded by eateries and bars. And they have it tricked out during the holiday season. Make sure to go on a hot day as both this and the river/cave waters are a bit chilly. Life jackets are offered but not necessary as there is minimal water treading. There’s is an 8 foot jump into the water you have to do, but the rest of the plunges are optional. Don’t miss out on going to where few outside of this special community have experienced!!!

1.00The tour left without us as they said our cruise ship took too long. We called the tour guide many times with no answer. Eventually he sent us a message that he left and could not take us in the tour. Ruined our trip to San Juan. In top of it they are telling us they will not refund our money. Viator failed us.

5.00This excursion is so totally worth it! You get a real look at the lush tropical forest and the caves/rivers are very cool to go through! Our tour guide Aimar was a local and he made the experience that much greater with his anecdotes about local living and the caves. It’s so great to also have such an experienced tour guide so you felt totally safe going through some of the trickier bits of the hike and also following through with the cliff jumping! Also, unfortunately, I dropped my phone in the water during the trip, and Aimar managed to find it even when I thought it was a total goner. So book it, you’ll have a blast!!

5.00Highly recommend this tour. Roy was an excellent guide - very knowledgeable, great energy, and made sure everyone stayed safe. Roy was very responsive and picked us up right on time. Expect to get completely wet, jump off tall rocks, and swim in caves. Super fun!

5.00There were six of us total on the tour so we got excellent attention from our extraordinary guide ROY. I would recommend this tour to others. It’s definitely an adventure; jumping into river from side rock cliffs, swimming thru caves, viewing waterfalls and swimming under waterfalls. The hike is challenging, definitely need to be “fit” to do this adventure. 5 of the 6 in our group were aged over 50, but very young at heart. Roy had a great fun loving personality and took nice action pics for us. Great Adventure!!!!

5.00We did this tour as a family. We had two 52 year olds, two 23 year olds, and two 21 year olds. We all agree this was one of the best experiences of our lives. Jon was fantastic! He was so enthusiastic and fun. He was great at helping us navigate throughout the tour. I’m not going to lie, it was a very challenging for us older folks. I consider us in decent shape, all things considered. You are climbing on very rough terrain, holding onto the sides of rocks, swimming through caves, it is awesome. Be prepared to be very wet and good water shoes are a must. You also go down a very steep hill and then back up. It’s a wild time! Oh, and you can jump off rocks. I didn’t do it, but the kids did and they loved it.
