Please note: you MUST check-in 15-minutes prior to your scheduled tour time. Failure to do so may result in your reservation being cancelled with out refund.
Carriage can transport up to 16 passengers per departure.
Children 3 years and under are free provided that they sit on the lap of a parent or guardian. If you want your child to have a seat, you must purchase a child seat.
By purchasing tickets for any horse-drawn carriage tour with Old South Carriage Co, participants acknowledge and accept all risks and liabilities associated with the tour, horses, and it’s properties. Our stable is where your tour experience will begin and end. After checking in you can say hi to our draft horses, watch an educational video, purchases a bottle of water, or use our restroom. As you board your carriage via our inclined ramp / easy loading platform, your certified tour guide will greet you.
Charleston City Market
After leaving our stable, your carriage will stop at the City gate near the Market, where a route is assigned by the City of Charleston. Our industry is governed by this system in order to disperse the carriage traffic more evenly throughout the city. Your tour will cover about 30 blocks and 300+ years of history. Though specific landmarks vary by route, all tours pass by sights that give Charleston its unique charm – custom wrought iron gates, well-manicured gardens, historic mansions with picturesque piazzas, and the many church steeples of the “Holy City.”

4.00Excellent length of tour and information shared along way. Cash our horse was well trained and maneuvered streets with ease. Very entertaining ride and would have been a 5 if the number of adults per row should be limited to 3 adults. 4 adults on a row is a squeeze and not comfortable.

5.00The tour in English is definitely geared for native English speakers. The guides speak quickly enough that a foreign traveler who speaks English well, still will not comprehend much of the tour. We enjoyed the tour but the friends traveling with us, missed much of it.
Absolutely wonderful and can’t wait to go back!

5.00We went on this tour to celebrate our Shih Tzu’s 13th birthday and it was wonderful! (Yes, we are “crazy dog people” and proud of it!). I appreciate the kind staff making a fuss over our boy and his birthday! It was very sweet. The tour itself was great! There was tons of historical information (which I absolutely love), fantastic tour guide, and overall just an enjoyable experience! I highly recommend it if you are wanting a nice, relaxing way to view the town!
