Our stable is where your tour experience will begin and end. After checking in you can say hi to our draft horses, watch an educational video, purchases a bottle of water, or use our restroom. As you board your carriage via our inclined ramp / easy loading platform, your certified tour guide will greet you.
Charleston City Market
After leaving our stable, your carriage will stop at the City gate near the Market, where a route is assigned by the City of Charleston. Our industry is governed by this system in order to disperse the carriage traffic more evenly throughout the city. Your tour will cover about 30 blocks and 300+ years of history. Though specific landmarks vary by route, all tours pass by sights that give Charleston its unique charm – custom wrought iron gates, well-manicured gardens, historic mansions with picturesque piazzas, and the many church steeples of the “Holy City.”

If you want to experience Charleston’s charm in the most authentic way possible, a historic carriage ride is the ticket. For one hour, we clip-clopped through cobblestone streets and beneath moss-draped oaks, with the steady rhythm of hooves setting the pace for a leisurely journey back in time. Our guide was knowledgeable, weaving together centuries of history with colorful anecdotes about the city’s architecture, famous residents, and pivotal moments. We learned about Charleston’s role in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, its preservation efforts, and the hidden stories behind its pastel facades and intricate ironwork. The pace allowed us to truly absorb the beauty—rows of stately mansions, charming gardens peeking through wrought-iron gates, and glimpses of the harbor sparkling in the sunlight. The horses were clearly well cared for, adding to the experience with their calm demeanor and occasional, endearing snorts. The route felt thoughtfully chosen, balancing well-known landmarks with tucked-away corners you might miss on foot. By the end, I felt like I’d not only seen Charleston, but understood it a little better—the pride, resilience, and layered history that make it one of America’s most beloved cities. This carriage ride is the perfect blend of storytelling, sightseeing, and Southern atmosphere. Highly recommend for first-time visitors and history lovers alike.

Everything from start to finish was good. The staff are friendly and professional and I love the fact that they have a ramp that you walk up to get into the carriage. Just be mindful of the day's weather when you go because it can be extremely hot on some days. Nevertheless, we enjoyed it!!
