During your Section 4 Chattooga Rafting trip, you'll raft the river that Southern Living named as The 1 Thing Every Southerner Ought to Do. You'll also raft the same river where the movie Deliverance was filmed in NOC's co-founder, Payson Kennedy was a stunt double.
As a Wild and Scenic River, protected by the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act of 1974, you'll experience the southeast's most wilderness rafting trip.

Section 4 of the Chattooga River is the Southeast's iconic whitewater rafting experience. Rapids include Seven-Foot Falls, Raven's Chute, and the famous Five Falls - five class IV-V rapids that occur in just 1/3 of a mile. After a brief trip safety talk and video, you’ll get geared up and load onto our bus to shuttle to the river put in. Once at the river, your experienced guide will walk you through instructions and what to expect. Then it’s down the river you go- paddling through Section 4's technical and fun rapids and enjoying the raw beauty of this Wild and Scenic Chattooga River. In addition to the amazing whitewater, you'll stop for a riverside lunch at the majestic Long Creek Falls, followed by navigating the famous Five Falls.

5.00What an AMAZING experience! The terrain is wild and beautiful. Our guide SEAN was fantastic, fun and knowledgable about the area. We had so much fun jumping off rocks and scaling waterfalls. The trip lasts about 5ish hrs and a great lunch is provided at a stop along the way. Saftey is their number one priority and we felt so the entire time. Everything exceeded our expectations. Thanks again for this amazing and memorable trip!
NOC was AWESOME and made our experience one to remember for a lifetime!

5.00The entire experience was Ahhhh-mazing! The river is wild and secluded, so you feel like you're truly in the wild. All of the trip guides were capable, skilled, and professional, and they made the trip FUN! Nora was our guide, and she was AWESOME! We booked this trip as part of a graduation road trip for our son and 2 of his best friends and could not have picked a more perfect river and experience! We highly recommend NOC and the Chattooga for your next whitewater rafting experience! You won't be disappointed!

5.00I can't begin to say enough about this group. We had not been before and chose the Section IV trip. It is a full day by the time you arrive to the time you leave after looking at the pictures back at the outpost (which is worth the wait). Ryan, Dan, Holding and the entire guide group are some of the most professional, friendly and personable staff I have ever dealt with. The riverside lunch is dynamite, lots and lots of swimming and rock jumping at stop off points and you never feel unsafe as that is their #1 priority but yet it's not crammed down your throat or uncomfortable. These guys are the very best at what they do, and I highly recommend this activity on the Chattooga River.

5.00Fantastic trip! Great day out, rafting was epic! And beautiful scenery as well. We did the full day with lunch and had a great lunch by the river and waterfall. Very well looked after by the trip guide Sam and her team. Highly recommend.

5.00Excellent day rafting Section 3 and Section 4 of the Chattooga. We had a large group. Booking was easy as the staff was very helpful in guiding the options. The trip guides were fantastic. They are very diligent about safety first but made sure the trip was loads of fun. The water is very cold this time of year but wetsuits made the day very pleasant. Highly recommend them.

5.00Our Scout Troop did this over the weekend and it was truly amazing. From booking the trip (HEART Diane) to leaving was fantastic. The river was really low but it actually made the trip more interesting because it was a more technical ride. The swimming spots are truly spectacular. We did the lunch option and the girls thought it was the best lunch ever. I was also impressed. The guides were awesome - skilled and fun. Even the facilities are very nice. I do not have enough words in my vocabulary to express just how phenomenal this was. Rafting will never be the same.

5.00This was my husband's and my second time doing the trip--and it was even better than the last amazing adventure we did with NOC. We brought along three coworkers this time, and everyone loved every second of it. The staff is incredible--they are very professional and make you feel safe and assured that you can do it! They are so efficient and go above & beyond to make your day. Truly one of the best experiences of our lives. Shout out to AK for being a the most energetic and fun trip leader, BIG shout out to Leah for leading our raft and doing all the hard work when we got stuck, and THANK YOU SAM for the awesome photos. The staff physically works so HARD but seemed to love every second of it just as much as we did. THANK YOU and we will definitely do it again! Y'all are the best

5.00Thrills! Fun!! Excitement!! All in a beautiful, remote setting. The guides were all knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We loved Owen, the guide in our boat!! The lunch they provided was delicious and filling, with enough choices to satisfy all the different tastes. We especially enjoyed the stops along the way .... to jump off rocks into the river, to hike behind a waterfall, and to swim through a "pothole" in the rock. This trip is excellent rafting and more!!!
