Dunluce Castle

Dunluce Castle is a dramatic medieval ruin perched on the edge of a rugged cliff along Northern Ireland’s Antrim Coast. Overlooking the wild Atlantic Ocean, it is famous for its breathtaking setting, where sheer rock faces and crashing waves surround the remains of the castle. Built in the 13th century and later expanded by the MacDonnell clan, Dunluce was once a powerful stronghold and a symbol of wealth and influence.

I would highly recommend Empire Chauffeurs N.Ireland as chauffeur and guide. Marty is the absolute best and he went above and beyond our expectations. We had the time of our lives all thanks to him. We flew into Shannon where he picked us up at the airport and from then to the end of our trip he took us all over Ireland. We saw so many of Ireland’s beautiful treasures, lots we would not have seen on a bus tour or had we driven ourselves. I would highly encourage anyone traveling to Ireland to use his company Empire Chauffeurs. Marty was a wealth of knowledge and now we consider him friend and family.

If you’re heading to Ireland and want a trip you’ll actually remember (instead of just stressing over a GPS), you have to book Marty with Empire Chauffeurs NI. It was so clear from day one that this isn't just a job for him—it’s his passion. He is incredibly knowledgeable and just genuinely cares that you’re having a good time. Because he holds a first professional license, he was able to whip that van through tiny back roads and narrow gaps that a tour bus would never even attempt. We saw things I honestly thought only existed on postcards. The best part for me? As a mom with three kids, I usually spend my whole vacation "managing" everyone. Marty took all of that off my plate. He handled the dinner reservations, planned the stops, and even made sure we were constantly trying the best local treats. Every morning the van was sparkling clean (he cleans it every night!) and stocked with fresh water. The seating in the van actually faces each other, which was a total game-changer for our family conversations, and having the fridge in the console for cold drinks was the cherry on top. My only regret is not just giving him total control over the whole itinerary from the start—he really knows his stuff. We learned so much and felt so taken care of. Don't even hesitate to hire him, it made our entire trip.
