5.00The questions was, what to get my wife for a birthday present? As we prefer experiences over ‘things’ I decide we’d book on one of Steph’s tours. We only live 15 minutes away from Chester but like most people become complacent with their local towns or cities and usually go to the place that we know and not make the effort to discover something different. On both counts, the tour delivered in spades. Steph is a wonderful host, extremely knowledgeable of the history of the beautiful City of Chester and took us to 6 amazingly different stops, only one of which we’d been to before. On our tour there were 5 other people we’d not met before but they were lovely to spend the next 5 hours with too. It’s like a carnal mystery tour as you’re not sure where you’re going next and then difficult you’re at the next venue. All of the locations are run by independents estate extremely passionate about the food and drinks they produce and tell their stories on how they have come to be in Chester. Steph’s passion for locally produced food and drink along and showcasing the thriving independent hospitality scene in this beautiful city makes it a highly recommended experience.

5.00Went on this tour with 4 family members and we all had a great time. Our guide was Giada who told us it was her first solo tour - we would not have known. She was very friendly, very knowledgeable, engaging and a lot of fun. We had 6 food stops, all very nice - vegan options provided at all of them. Staff at all of the stops were also very welcoming. Highly recommend.

5.00Had such a lovely day with Steph, who cares about the rain! Enjoyed lots of enjoyable food & drinks on the tour, plus learned many interesting facts about Chester. Steph is very passionate and keen to ensure everyone is enjoying themselves. We visited: - Green House - European Tapas with stunning food & wine - 5 Rufus Court - Russel's Thai Tapas - Owned by award winning owners of Thai Bahn - 77 Foregate Street. - Huxleys - Cafe on the wall selling locally made craft ale brewed by the owner - Eastgate Clock, East gate Street. - Brewery Tap - Pub in a medieval banqueting hall - 52-54 Lower Bridge Street. - Providence Gin - Gin Bar in one of Chester's most important 17th century buildings - 9 Watergate Street. I won't spoil the surprise and tell you what we had. An added bonus was when we sampled some gorgeous chocs whilst visiting visited Sam Joseph's Chocolate Shop in the market, Sam and Claire actually joined us on the tour. Can thoroughly recommend - an enjoyable way to visit Chester.

5.00My husband and I were looking to do a tour in Chester and we found Chester Food tour on Trip Advisor with high ratings. We decided to give one a try. The tour was beyond our expectations and we really enjoyed it. Steph took us around the city trying different restaurants and along the way we received a lot of historical stories that were fun and informative. The places that she chose to take us were unique and very tasty! Steph is an easy person to be around and made the whole experience a lot if fun! We only had one day to spend in Chester and I think the tour was perfect! Later we went to a wine bar she suggested and it was great as well!

5.00We had an absolutely amazing day! Steph was fabulous and so knowledgeable. We got to try some incredible food, learn all about Chester, and her company made the whole experience even better. Everything tasted delicious, we even loved the smoked salmon so much that we bought extra to take home. We would definitely recommend!

5.00If you want to truly experience the heart and soul of Chester you need to book this food tour immediately. Our guide, Steph, was phenomenal. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable about the local culinary scene, but she also shared fascinating stories about the history of the areas we walked through. It felt less like a formal tour and more like exploring the city with a deeply passionate local friend. Everything we tasted was incredible. We visited some local spots that we never would have discovered on our own. The tour was perfectly timed. We never felt rushed. This tour offers the perfect blend of amazing food, rich history, and great company. It is worth every single penny. Thank you to again to Steph for an unforgettable afternoon. We will absolutely be recommending this tour to everyone we know!

5.00My husband and I have been on a number of food tours, and this was definitely one of the best. Steph was an amazing guide. She reached out before the tour to confirm if we had any dietary requirements and if we drank alcohol. I really appreciated this, as I don't drink alcohol. As it happens we were the only ones booked on the tour. I love the fact Steph still did the tour with just the two of us; we've previously had guides cancel on us because they didn't have enough people booked on. It was a great mix of delicious food and visiting fab sites around Chester. Every place we eat at was great and really welcoming. They were all proud of their offerings, as they rightly should be - championing local produce. It was a great way to try places I'm not sure we would have necessarily found on our own.
