You will have a short history of Chester and hear a few of Chester's stories on the way to your first food stop. This is a unique experience with the dish designed for the Chester Food Tour. 5.00My husband and I have been on a number of food tours, and this was definitely one of the best. Steph was an amazing guide. She reached out before the tour to confirm if we had any dietary requirements and if we drank alcohol. I really appreciated this, as I don't drink alcohol. As it happens we were the only ones booked on the tour. I love the fact Steph still did the tour with just the two of us; we've previously had guides cancel on us because they didn't have enough people booked on. It was a great mix of delicious food and visiting fab sites around Chester. Every place we eat at was great and really welcoming. They were all proud of their offerings, as they rightly should be - championing local produce. It was a great way to try places I'm not sure we would have necessarily found on our own.

5.00I wasn't certain exactly how this would go and so it far exceeded expectations. The cost of the experience was most reasonable considering the value it provided. Not only was it like a tapas meal on the go, but it was an educational tour also, taking in some delightful eateries / restaurants / pubs whilst listening to facts about Chester as we roamed the city. The food offerings were all different to cater for all tastes, all of a sensible size to sample the tastes of each venue whilst not filling you up so you could continue the tour, little and ofen, but no too little, a reasonable taster in each venue. Teh venue's greeted us with a welcome smile and bought food to us in a timely manner, no long waits at all. Our guide, Steph, was very good at making us all feel comfortable ensuring we were having a good time on the tour, involving all in conversation so that at the end of the tour you felt you had spent a couple of hours or so with friends. I would recommend this tour if you want a gentle amble in the city, you'll taste some delicious food and your guide will be great company as they tell you stories and facts relating to Chester.

5.00We received this as a gift, and it’s genuinely one of the best presents we’ve ever had. The sunny weather certainly helped. Chester is absolutely stunning, especially when the sun is out. Steph, our host, was fantastic, engaging, knowledgeable, and full of fascinating history, all delivered in a way that kept us thoroughly entertained throughout on your short walks from venue to venue. Chester’s independent food scene is incredible, and the hidden gems Steph introduced us to are places we would never have discovered on our own and we are looking forward to our next visit to Chester. It was excellent value for money, and I’m already thinking about who I can buy this experience for as a gift next! Also now considering booking the wine and cheese tour Steph does! 5.00Can highly recommend Chester on a plate. Steph the tour guide is such a lovely person, and very knowledgeable. It was nice to wander through the medieval streets and listen to historically facts and stories , whilst enjoying independently produced food and drink on route. It really is a thoroughly enjoyable day

5.00A brilliant way to find local independent food places, we live in Chester but had never been to the places Steph took us to. And they were all fantastic, offering delicious food, cold drinks and great atmosphere. The tour itself was brilliant, informative, fun and Steph had so much knowledge of the local area, knew each place we visited well and had great relationships with all the staff who served and spoke to us. A good mix of history and food of the city, but keeping it light and interesting. We even learned new facts about Chester (which is difficult when you’ve lived here your whole life!) I would definitely recommend to everyone, locals and tourists alike. As a person who travels a lot, it’s sometimes difficult to know where to eat out in a city you’ve never been to, as you don’t know if you’re going to get a great experience or not, so this was a fun way to try a few places all at once and discover some hidden gems as well as learn about the city itself. I would definitely do a tour like this in other cities!

5.00I originally took the tour with my husband in June 2025 and enjoyed it so much that I decided to buy a voucher for my friend's birthday. I took the tour again with her and another friend in April 2026 and we all had a fabulous time, learning a lot about Chester's history and enjoying some delicious food along the way. Thank you, Steph for being a fantastic tour guide.

5.00Such a fantastic food tour in Chester! From start to finish, everything was really well organised and thoughtfully planned. Steph was a brilliant host very friendly, engaging, and clearly passionate about both the food and the city. It was such a great way to explore Chester, discover new places, and try a variety of delicious food along the way. The pace was perfect, never rushed, and it felt like a really enjoyable and relaxed experience throughout. I came away having learned a lot and with a few new favourite spots! I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Chester or even locals looking for something different it’s a great way to spend the day.

5.00What could be better than to spend an afternoon than on Chester on a plate food tour with Steph. You take a gentle stroll around the city learning the city’s history, while stopping at 5 independent venues sampling some lovely food and drinks. Steph is great fun, friendly and very knowledgeable. We were a group of 6 people, it was like having an afternoon out with friends. Would highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed. Will be back again for a different tour.
