Wat Chedi Luang Varavihara
Wat Chedi Luang Varavihara Wat Chedi Luang, this temple is the site of an enormous pagoda, originally 280 feet high, and which was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1545. At one time, Wat Chedi Luang housed the revered Emerlad Buddha image now enshrined in Bangkok’s Wat Phra Kaew. One of Wat Chedi Luang’s most striking architectural features is a magnificent Naga staircase adorns the chapel’s front.

5.00I would recommend this tour to get a good overview of the history of Chiang Mai. Our guide Ooh La La was very informative and engaging, giving us the history behind the temples and also allowing us time to wander about at each site. I would never have known the stories behind now these temples came to be if we went on our own.

5.00Booked this tour as this is our first time to Chiang Mai. Can’t remember the young ladies name but she was very informative and knowledgeable. Went to 3 temples, one of which was at the highest point of Chiang Mai overlooking the city. Would totally recommend. Well worth the time and money.
