A medieval gem nestled in an exceptional panorama between Swiss mountains and lake. Cross the drawbridge and step into a world that inspired some of the greatest artists for what’s sure to be a memorable experience! Our romantic-meets-authentic tours are made to measure: come on your own, as a couple, or in a group; choose from a costumed tour guide, an audio guide or explore the fortress at your own pace.
Our quirky castle trail and touch-screen videos will take you back in time to the era of the Dukes of Savoy. Chillon Castle is also available for private events, such as candle-lit banquets, birthday parties or even our guided tour with wine tasting package.
The most visited monument in Switzerland hosts exhibitions, shows and concerts all year round. It’s a must see!

The castle is NOT adapted for wheelchairs. However, 2 audiovisual terminals with 8 short-films about the castle's history are at disposal of the less mobile visitors in the cafeteria.
Baby-changing table available.
Strollers prohibited : to visit the castle, please leave your stroller in the cafeteria (unsupervised) and prefer baby-carriers.
Limited number of berths in front of the castle for private vessels. (depth of water shallow).
Pets are not admitted in the Castle. However, places are reserved for them at the entrance .
Dress code required by our regulations: entry refused to anyone who arrives topless, in bathing suits and/or bare feet.

5.00Very pretty chateau on the lake. So easy to find. We walked along from Montreax and bought tickets on the gate I recommend you get the audio guide. I got one and I'd summarise the rooms for my husband. Great fun! Such an interesting place and loads of facts on the guide. Was a great way to spend a few hours.

2.00You don't understand anything when you enter, scattered and confusing numbers. I appreciated it only later, once out, from the photos taken.

4.00With audio guides and environment divided by number you shoot in about 2 hours and there are also acrobats and military simulations, great for everyone as well for families with children!

5.00Despite a very cold and rainy day we thoroughly enjoyed the castle . We went around by ourselves although there is an audio guide available. We chose to read the brochure and the signs/posters at each stop. There are 46 points to view but unfortunately we were short on time and only did the first 30. Leave 2 hours to see everything or you will miss out. The ticket we bought on TA was cheaper as TA gave us a discount ...

4.00This is a great place to explore when you are in Montreux. It offers history, an informative self-guided exploration that takes you to interesting places in the castle. There’s lots of beautiful photo shots that can be taken within and outside the castle. Be advised to wear comfortable shoes as there’s a bit of steps and certain places can be a bit dark.

5.00Having grown up around castles and stately homes I can definitely compare and say this was well worth the visit. Views from afar along the lakeside, as well as up close, all impress. Staff helpful and smiling. Exhibits and services excellent. Very surprised how well the castle has held up over the centuries and how well it is being maintained. Unlike so many, you have access to most of it; not just one little wing or tower. A definite on the visit list. Suggest arriving when opens. On our departure was quite busy, even for late September.
