  Haiti is very beautiful and most of the people are lovely. Sadly, enough of the people are not lovely--including this tour operator--that I'd recommend you avoid Haiti. And if you don't, certainly avoid this operator. I booked this tour in English. My guide at the Citadel spoke English, but my driver did not, which resulted in all sorts of confusions and frustrations. Also, whilst the driver was supposed to pick me up from the hotel on the morning of departure, the company had me take the hotel shuttle to the airport instead. But worst of all, I'd told the operator prior to the trip that I'd wanted to have dinner in town, and he instructed me to pay the driver and extra $100 cash to take me to and from the hotel to the restaurant and wait for me to have a quick dinner. I did give the driver the $100, but was then told several hours later (at 4:30pm, when the driver decided that I should have "dinner") that a landslide had resulted in most restaurants being closed, that I should eat at my hotel instead. I do not know whether or not this was true, but I indeed went to my hotel and ate there. But the driver did not refund my $100 and the tour operator, after promising me a refund, told me after I'd left the island "as you can see, life is not easy in Cap Haitian then it will be a problem for Justin to get the money back so." I had already tipped everyone, including the driver, quite well. Moreover, I'd been shaken down and hustled the entire 24 hours I was on the ground for money, from everyone, everywhere. I understand that life is hard in Haiti, but the answer is not to aggressively hassle people for money or, in the case of my tour operator, to steal it. The answer is to be honest with and kind to tourists to build an industry that brings money to the island and its people, which I was more than happy to do. Instead, I will never go back and will tell anyone who asks not to visit. It's people like this dishonest tour operator who perpetuates the misery. If you want another $100 for the tour, then charge an extra $100 for it. Don't steal it.
