Adrian was an amazing, incredibly knowledgeable guide and really made the experience. He shared is knowledge of local history, flora & fauna and his passion for wildlife preservation. The area is beautiful and worth the trip by itself. If you want a chance of seeing penguins book the latest tour and don’t be upset if they don’t show.

A fantastic experience with clearly knowledgeable naturalists who knew where to go to find the rarest breeds, especially endangered yellow eyed penguins. More off the beaten track than the mainstream tour providers and all the better for it

Very professional and well managed day from start to finish. Ferg was our guide and did a great job. Very knowledgeable on the wildlife and the historic culture of the area. He was very patient with the group and helped the tour move when needed. Beautiful landscape and a lot of seals, sea lions, birds and a rare snares crested penguin. Hannah if you read this he did a lot of bragging about you!!

The five-star rating truly says it all, it’s the personalized curated tour, on comfortable four-wheel drive vans, through winding roads and rolling gills dotted with those ubiquitous sheep’s. Since we are staying on the Otago peninsula they agreed to pick us up at a closer location as a last minute change, met by our tour guide Tom. He was jovial with a beautiful Kiwi accent and knowledgeable making sure our needs to stay warm were met, answering our numerous questions, protecting us from the sea lions, and as if by request, a lone yellow-eyed penguin climbing the new Forrest that Clearwater planted. Yes it’s working attracting penguins to this protected area. As a rule we have to wait until these shy loner penguins moved before we could.
