This beautiful coastal village of Kinvarra is set against the beautiful backdrop of the Galway Bay. Once a busy port, it is now a pretty fishing village. It is ideal setting to experience the relaxed rural pace of life. Here we can view Irelands largest thatch roof at the Merriman Hotel. Just north of Kinvarra, you can visit a 16th-century tower house. Dunguaire was bought and repaired in the early 20th century by Oliver St John Gogarty. Gogarty was a famous surgeon and literary figure of his time. Many literary revivalists, a movement of Irish literature, met here, including W.B. Yeats. The restored castle offers a window into the past. Learn about the castle’s history and residents, from humble beginnings in the 16th century all the way to modern times. Entrance fee required to visit the castle and is seasonal. Kinvarra and Dunguaire Castle are optional choices for our day depending on the other locations chosen*

    Drago was our guide and led a great trip across the island and back! He picked out interesting points for us to visit and times everything so well, we got to the cliffs just as the sun was coming out! He was also so friendly and made even the longer driving portions feel fun. This was all supplemented by his great stories and facts of the islands history. I would strongly recommend this tour and Drago as a guide!

    Our guide was very knowledgeable of the history of the area and took us to a few castles and a chocolate factory. The restaurant he had us stop at was one of the best of our entire trip! The Cliffs were very windy but breathtaking as well!

    We had a great time. This tour was a great way to get to see things off the beaten path. The itinerary was catered to what we were interested in. I'd recommend it to anyone going to Dublin.

    Our driver was excellent and did his best to offer alternatives when bad weather closed the visitor area for the Cliffs.

    We had the best time on our tour. Drago was the most amazing tour guide and was an encyclopedia of information and history of the places we visited.

    Driver stopped at requested locations: we saw sheepdogs, cliffs, a chocolate shop, multiple restrooms, a nice pub, and a cheese shop. Wonderful experience!!

    The tour was incredible. Anyone would be lucky to have Taufeeq as a tour guide. He was professional and extremely knowledgeable about the locations we visited. He let us drive the conversation; when we wanted to talk, he was engaging and helpful and when we wanted a quieter period due to the tour length he let us have our space. The locations in the itinerary really hit spot of what we wanted see in Ireland. He was quick to help get us started and make sure we had what we needed. Having the private tour also allowed us to spend extra time at certain locations and be quicker at others. It was better than feeling like we had to keep with a large group. Highly recommend the tour and Taufeeq.
