Coffee Tour Experience

Begin your journey in the charming town of San Pedro Las Huertas, where we’ll visit the central park and observe the traditional pila (public laundry), still used daily by local families. From there, we walk toward the foothills of the majestic Agua Volcano, surrounded by lush landscapes and authentic rural life.

Along the way, you’ll explore coffee plantations and also learn about other crops and wild plants that thrive in this fertile volcanic soil. With a local small-scale farmer, you’ll discover the artisanal process of coffee—from seed to cup—participating in every step. You’ll roast, grind, and finally taste a delicious cup of freshly brewed coffee that you helped prepare.

To end the experience, you’ll have the unique opportunity to purchase coffee directly from the producer, supporting local families and sustainable community growth.

I was the only person on the tour and enjoyed the experience. The guide, Delmy, was very thoughtful and accommodated my slow pace. All of my questions were answered clearly.

Axel was a superb guide, knowledgable in plants and coffee. Marta, our coffee grower, was wonderful. We walked up to a coffee farm, and ended at Marta’s home with a cup of her coffee. She roasted and ground the beans and brewed them. Three hours.

Our guide Axel was very knowledgeable and fun. Marta was great as well and really shared a lot of excellent knowledge about coffee which was delicious!

Axel was an amazing guide. Highly recommend him. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. We learnt a lot and had a laugh. Got a real feel for how coffee is produced in this landscape, along with lots of other interesting facts. He was also willing to answer any questions we had. Marta was so kind and welcomed us into her home. She let us experience the journey of the coffee being picked to drinking it- it tasted incredible, and we all bought a bag from her farm. They even gave us cookies! A genuine highlight of our trip

What a brilliant tour . Incredibly informative about the whole process of coffee from the planting of plants , upkeep , then the drying and roasting . We then got to have a pot of delicious coffee , would highly recommend

Absolutely fantastic tour. Axel was extremely knowledgeable and so friendly and welcoming for questions. Marta explained local plants, culture, and of course every aspect of coffee from seed to cup. She shared her home with us and we roasted coffee, then enjoyed a delicious brewed cup. This was an exceptional tour!

This was truly a remarkable experience. It was incredible to see the hard work that goes into your morning cup of coffee. We took the 4x4 option and had a blast riding in the truck up to the coffee plantation with our guide and the owner Marta. She is wonderful and taught us so much. Our tour guide Axel is a gem. This was our second tour with him and he goes above and beyond with his background knowledge. Highly recommend!

Great experience all around. Everything was easy to find, and the guides were very knowledgeable. Not only did they explain the coffee process, but also would point out various plants around us as we walked to the farm. Going to the farmer's house was a cool experience as well, allowing us to roast and grind our own coffee beans to make our coffee.

It has been a plant-to-coffer experienced. I get to see the coffee farm and knowing the process of growing the coffee beans. In th end I roasted and grinded the coffee, and make jt into a cup of coffee. My guide Axel arranged the tour very well although I am the only one in the tour. He is knowledgeable and very patient translating between the coffee former and myself. Definitely for people who want to know more about coffee.
