Coffee Tour Experience
Begin your journey in the charming town of San Pedro Las Huertas, where we’ll visit the central park and observe the traditional pila (public laundry), still used daily by local families. From there, we walk toward the foothills of the majestic Agua Volcano, surrounded by lush landscapes and authentic rural life.
Along the way, you’ll explore coffee plantations and also learn about other crops and wild plants that thrive in this fertile volcanic soil. With a local small-scale farmer, you’ll discover the artisanal process of coffee—from seed to cup—participating in every step. You’ll roast, grind, and finally taste a delicious cup of freshly brewed coffee that you helped prepare.
To end the experience, you’ll have the unique opportunity to purchase coffee directly from the producer, supporting local families and sustainable community growth.

The coffee plantation tour was an amazing experience! Never knew how much went into harvesting coffee. I appreciate all the hands that work so hard for this amazing beverage. Axel our tour guide along with Cristobal the owner of the plantation gave an excellent and informative tour. We ended our tour at Cristobal's sister's home where they showed us how to grind and brew coffee without modern conveniences. Coffee was delicious!

I had such a great time on this tour. Axel, the guide, was absolutely amazing. He had so much knowledge about the area, the nature, the people, etc. I learned so much from him and laughed a lot with him. Marta, the plantation owner was so sweet and nice. She taught me so many interesting facts about growing and producing coffee. She opened her home to us for such an amazing and special experience. Axel and Marta were both incredible, went over the top, and provided such a wonderful time. Highly recommend!

Axel (tour guide) was wonderful! He was very knowledgeable about the area and made me feel right at home. We visited a nearby coffee farm (a bit of a trek up) with a local farmer, Marta, and learned about the coffee growing and production process. We finished the tour with a lovely artisanal roast and delicious cup of coffee at Marta’s home. Was such a lovely experience and learned a lot!

This tour felt so personal and educational. We loved learning about the town, the impact of coffee on Mayan people and how much work goes into making coffee.

What a fun tour! We walked at a slow pace toward the coffee field. The guide and Don Filiberto gave us TONS of info on the process of growing coffee, as well as how it's prepared for consumption. Ended up at Don Fili's house where we roased our own beans, ground them on a metate, and then made our own coffee! Don Fili sells coffee, and we picked up a few small packs for family back home.

An amazing experience! Axel and Marta were incredible at explaining not only the coffee making process, but so many elements of Guatemalan life. The 2.5 hour tour included insight into local plants, traditions and customs, all before we got to the coffee! Marta explained in detail the coffee process from selecting a field, to planting, growing and harvesting. We then went to Marta’s home where she showed us the roasting, grinding and brewing steps. We even got a chance to try our hand along the way. The experience finished with tasting the delicious coffee we had just made. I HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone looking for a great slice of local life when travelling to Antigua. If possible, book direct through B1 Experience - $30usd/person.

Axel and Christos were absolutely amazing. They taught us so much on the coffee tour and were able to answer all of our questions. The whole experience was so educational and showed us how the process originally started. We were so welcomed by them and their family. For sure will be doing this again in the future. The coffee was absolutely amazing too.

A very informative, detailed excursion. You take a hike to a coffee plantation and back again. Then, at the house of the coffee farmer's daughter, all the steps of the processing are explained to you, until the tasting. You can also help yourself. It is also possible to buy coffee directly. It is a small family business with very simple means, but the more effortful and friendly the people are.
