If you’re looking for a coffee tour that will deepen your knowledge and expose you to interact with local communities off-the-beaten-path, this is for you. The coffee growers lead our signature coffee tours from the community of San Miguel Escobar on the outskirts of Antigua. They will lead you through their fields, explain the work behind cultivating coffee, walk you through each processing step from bean to brew, and finish the tour by joining you for a coffee in their home. Along the way, you’ll learn more than just the process behind coffee--you’ll have authentic and transparent conversations with small-scale producers to hear firsthand about their obstacles, triumphs, and goals as coffee growers and experience their persisting enthusiasm and dedication to the coffee industry.

If you are looking for an authentic experience, do not hesitate to do the coffee tour with De La Gente. I can recommend it 100%. Eduardo and his wife welcomed us with open arms at their home, and hearing Eduardo explain the details of coffee growing in the countryside, you can see his passion for coffee.

This was a wonderful tour. We learned so much about coffee and the local agriculture, but the highlight was interacting with the farmer and his family in his home, and also the interpreter from De La Gente who told us about how the coffee cooperatives work in Guatemala and how the company helps them. Definitely recommend!

Such a friendly experience, People are so nice! Our coffee farmer was Mercedes it was interesting to hear about his experience in the coffee growing business. It was also nice to hear that the nonprofit organization “de La gente” is helping all these small farmers sell their coffee. Most of these profits go to these farmers. Such a good experience!!

The tour guide and translator were friendly and educational. The walk to the fields was moderate and pleasant. It was a treat to see the beans roasted before our eyes and the coffee was excellent. We enjoyed sharing conversation with the hosts and other tour members.

An amazing experience learning about coffee from the field to the table! We had a chance to meet Andres and his lovely wife, daughter, and grandson as they showed us their work around coffee production, told us the history and present, and taught us nuances about different types of soil and roasting techniques. Angela was a wonderful translator and extremely patient as we asked 1001 questions to learn more. I am not a coffee drinker but I got to learn so much generally about planting and growing crops, about how people live in this town, and actually enjoyed the coffee! Amazing experience- 10/10 recommend !

Very unique and informative experience! We loved both the cooking and coffee class and it was really special to have them take place in a family home. Elisandro and Hilda were phenomenal instructors and I would highly recommend this experience!

The De La Gente coffee tour is a fantastic way to learn all about the coffee growing, harvesting, and toasting process while also supporting a small, family-run coffee producer. We started the tour by walking through the coffee plants in a beautiful setting on the side of a mountain while Ricardo, the farmer, educated us and answered any questions we had. Then we walked back to his home and made ourselves a cup of coffee the traditional way before having lunch together. Highly recommend!
