Discover our island’s culture & charm. Enjoy personal encounters with some of our colorful feathered inhabitants. Depart the cruise port or hotel near Philipsburg in an air-conditioned minivan. Listen to informative commentary from your driver as you traverse the village roads and green hillsides on route to the bird park. On arrival explore the garden habitat of exotic and colorful species of birds. Staff will disseminate information on the species of birds at the park. Wander leisurely amidst species such as black headed caique, brown throated conure, ring neck parakeet, sun conure and others. Feeding the birds is fascinating & unique, a truly up-close encounter. See plants and vegetation, some of which are medicinal & nutrition for the birds. On return, stop for ice cream, and an opportunity to sample or purchase a variety of Dutch Gouda cheese, one of the most popular cheeses worldwide. Then back to port or stay in town to shop, dine or swim and return to port at your leisure.

The visit to the bird sanctuary was engaging and entertaining. We were able to feed and photograph the very colorful birds, who would land on us. Recommend wearing long sleeve shirt and hat. Our driver, Earl, was very informative and pleasant during our tour. The stop at the small cheese store/gift shop was disappointing. Only received one very tiny cube of cheese and were left to shop in the small store.

Bernard took good care of us. The birds were amazing and includes a bowl of feed for the birds. Good overview of the island. The in-laws are mobility challenges and managed fine. The worst part was walking to the tour. Once there no problem.

Picked up at our accommodations and had a tour of part of the French side as well as a bit of Philipsburg. The cheese shop was yummy! Our drivers were friendly and informative! Excellent. Loved spending time in with the bird. So colorful.

Spending time with the variety of birds was amazing. Staff were so friendly. Highly recommend you include this excursion and Lloyd was the best host. He made the entire experience the highlight of the excursion . He is extremely knowledgeable and fun

My friends group of five retired travelers from a cruise ship agreed to my idea of visiting this bird park. Every one if us LOVED this place! All had big smiles the whole time. The people who worked there were also very lovely. The birds were beautiful and fun to interact with. Our van driver, Bernard, was very cool and funny, knowledgeable charming. He also drove us across to the French side of the island, making stops at a very local roadside iguana feeding place, a walk up lookout at the sea for pics, and back near the cruise ship to a great Dutch cheese store where everybody tasted interesting cheeses and bought loads of cheese to take home. I think he was going to buy us an ice cream and take us back to the ship as part of the deal. But we decided to walk around the other shops near the cheese store, have some lunch at a place nearby recommended by the cheese store employee, and walk the approx mile back to the ship. The whole thing was fun, interesting and only about 3 hours long, which is what we wanted so we could relax in the mid-afternoon after returning to the ship at our own leisurely pace. I highly recommend this tour if you like all those things I just mentioned! Beauty in the simplicity and we got to see a lot of the island in a very comfortable, air conditioned van! 🌴😎🤙🏽

This excursion was one of the highlights of our cruise. The birds were beautiful and we thoroughly had fun feeding them and watching them play. Our guide was great and we stopped to see the iguanas and the cheese factory on the Dutch side of the island. Great tour!

Andre was the BEST tour guide we could've asked for! My wife and I were traveling with our 3 year old daughter and 6 month old son for the first time and Andre was beyond accommodating! He was full of information and patience for my young family. He also took photos for us at any given opportunity which was a nice touch as its usually my wife or I taking photos of each other with the kids. We are more inclined to return to St. Maarten because of the fabulous hospitality shown to us by Andre. He is a wonderful host and you should truly value having him as an employee.

Claudette was absolutely fantastic! My kids really enjoyed her commentary and information about the island. Her personality was fun and bright and contagious! We loved her!!! The birds were splendid! Absolutely gorgeous and so fun. They were flying all over, landing on our heads, our backpacks, our hands, and our feeder cups. So much fun! The cheese store was cute and we did buy some good Amsterdam cheese. A really good excursion with our kids!! We loved it, would do it again, and would highly recommend!
