Beautiful experience, super local in the charming Japanese countryside! In a renovated historic house, the story of the local dish is told. Then under the careful guidance of the cooks you get into the kitchen and, finally, you can enjoy it, along with other delicacies. Really recommended experience, off the usual super tourist circuits.

Me and a few friends went on this experience recently, I have to say it was very informative and enjoyable. You first learn about the history of Bara sushi which I'd never heard of before and then you get presented with all the ingredients to design it yourself, the whole event was around 2 hours, eating included so it's not a massive time commitment and you get lunch out of it. The owner of the establishment is very friendly and can speak pretty decent English although they do bring on a really good interpreter to clarify instructions and such. 10/10.
