Terrific experience that included a boat ride, a hike in the forest and a super lunch. Our guide Melvin was thoughtful, and helpful in locating and identifying animals and birds during our day adventure at Corcovado National Park. Highly recommend Corcovado Wild Tours.

Very well organised, Jairo was great! He made sure everything ran smoothly with advice on getting an early breakfast, all necessary instructions, directions and even provided secure parking. Our guide Melvin was world class! Very knowledgeable, providing an unforgettable and personal experience that me and my girlfriend will never forget. He located wildlife that most people wouldn't ever spot, made everything very easy and even ensured we took some amazing photos of some truely breathtaking flaura and fauna. The list of species he helped us discover was truly amazing, from Howlers and Spider Monkeys, Tapirs, Deer, Pecaries, a huge variety of birds, reptiles, insects, trees, plants and even fungi. He has a wealth of knowledge having been guiding for over 20 years and really made it a magical and unforgettable experience for us both. The boat crew where also fantastic, making sure we had the chance to take in some spectacular sights on route to the park including Humpback whales, dolphins, turtles and flying fish too while also providing refreshment during the trip back. I would recommend using Corcovado Wild Tours to anyone looking to have the full Osa experience and cannot thank Jairo, Melvin or our Captain enough!

During the 1,5 hour way to Siréna and back we saw whales and dolphins. If you don't like swinging on the waves (like me) I advise you to sit on the rear of the boat and everything is ok. In Corcovado we spent many hours and saw many animals (three types of monkey, toucans, tapirs and many birds and other small animals). The lunch after was good. Many thanks to our guide Carlos. It was wonderfull to share his passion and knowledges.

Our guide Jairo made us enjoy a guided tour of the Corcovado National Park. Your knowledge, experience, and above all, your dedication, made this excursion a very special day. Previously we had already made excursions with other guides, and certainly highlights the professionalism and knowledge of the nature of Jairo. In addition, the boat trip to Corcovado allowed us to see whales, which made the experience 10/10.

I joined a tour and has Jose as a guide. It looked like we were going to ride directly in a thunder and lightning storm on the way out, but we skirted the back end. It got a little rough out and it rained heavily so we got wet, but it was an adventure and we got there safe. They pull up on the beach and you hope out into shallow water and wade in. Then you get checked in to the park by the Rangers. If it's a Cloudy rainy day, which it was, the animals tend to hide so we didn't have high expectations. We ended up seeing crocs, tapir, sloth, monkeys, peccaries, wild turkeys, and anteater as well as learning about the park and the primary and secondary forests. Then we had an awesome lunch before heading to the boats. Jose was great, and we saw a lot for a bad day. He also helped take pictures and videos through the scope.

This was the most amazing thing we have done on our vacation in CR by far! We saw so many incredible animals in their habitats. Our guide Mel was the absolute BEST! Nice, knowledgeable and just loved his job. The photos I have will last a lifetime of memories for us. This is an experience you won't forget!!!

Don't underestimate the boat ride. A solid 2 hours each way at 30+MPH on the open ocean. Add an hour for lunch and you have about 3 hours of actual park exploration. Our guide was very nice and very friendly, but I'm not sure he "found" any animals on his own that another guide hadn't found first. He seemed torn between speaking Spanish and English and certainly didn't repeat everything he'd said in Spanish when he spoke English. Often he'd try to make his "find" mysterious and wouldn't say what he was looking for until we saw it and even then didn't do a great job of describing what it was or any important information about it. Exhausting day and since we didn't really have any amazing wild animal "finds" it was a bit of a let down.

Great guide and plenty of time to see the wildlife. They’ll tell you bring water shoes or sandals, which I interpreted as wear water shoes or sandals. I made it through alright in my chacos, but felt a little silly when everyone pulled out their hiking shoes to change into after we got off the boat. Saw a whale, dolphins, tons of birds and mammals.

The price might seem high at first, but when you consider what’s included—two 1.5-hour boat rides, the national park fee/registration, a proper meal with a drink, and extremely professional guiding—it’s definitely worth it. Yes, there are several groups in the park at the same time, but it was still enchanting to observe wild animals in their natural habitat. Our guide was top-tier and took their responsibility toward nature very seriously, including how to respectfully coordinate with other groups so animals weren't disturbed by large crowds. The boat ride was adventurous but fun—nothing a little bit of Biodramina couldn’t handle! Regarding footwear: we found that Crocs or something similar worked just fine for the boat landing. Two things we’d like to mention: It would be helpful to include the “absolutely no food” policy in the park in your info-letter beforehand. While it didn’t bother us at all, we’re certain some of our friends wouldn’t appreciate paying this amount and being placed in a group with two families that had very young children. Thank you for a remarkable day with outstanding sightings!

Ok, I know this review is late but I was just telling a friend about the great, once in a lifetime experience we had with Jairo on our tour of Corcovado and realized I had forgotten to write this review. My husband and I travel quite a bit and when an experience stands out, we try to make sure we leave a review. Jairo was such an excellent guide. We saw so much and even though it poured rain, we wouldn’t have changed a thing. And maybe the most important thing, Jairo is a kind and helpful person. My husband left something on the boat and we were leaving early the next day. Jairo met us early early morning to make sure we didn’t leave without our item. Amazing! Book with Jairo, he’s the best! We saw up close, sloths, monkeys, tapirs, and much much more!
