We start at 7 am from Quito and will take a different way to enter to the National park and will leave by the regular national park entrance gate.
Driving through 3 volcanoes PASOCHOA, RUMIÑAHUI and SINCHOLAGUA going through the real AVENUE OF THE VOLCANOES.
1st activity: HORSEBACK RIDE.
After this horseback ride experience, we will drive for about half hour until the parking lot located on the 14800 feet or 4700 mts above sea level from where the hike to the BASE CAMP will start.
If you are not an adventurous person, don't like bumpy roads, get bothered for changing weather or heart problems. DO NOT JOIN this experience.

Avenida De Los Volcanes
We will drive by the real Avenue of the Volcanoes noted on Gps as Avenida de los Volcanes. On the way we will stop by a gas station for using restrooms and buying something for lunch as well as enough water and any snacks needed for the day. We will drive in the Middle of the following volcanoes (Pasochoa/ Rumiñahui and Sincholagua)until arriving to Cotopaxi Volcano.
Once we arrive to this entrance gate, you will have the opportunity for buying coca leaf bags ir candies to help with the altitude problems, also convenient spot to buy gloves, hats, ponchos made by a local.

5.00This was a great trip. The guides were very attenttative and helpful, especially during the difficult hike up to base camp. We had beautiful weather and enjoyed seeing the beautiful scenery and wildlife. The arranged transportation to the meeting place went very smoothly and was right on time. I would definitely recommend this tour to see Cotapaxi!

5.00Fantastic trip! The guides were highly knowledgeable, very personable, and organized. Scheduling was easy and the organization communicated with us very well in advance with all details. Hike to the base camp was appropriately breath-taking-literally for low landers like us-but the guides were patient and very attentive to every participant’s needs. The horses were so well trained that they were very comfortable for beginning riders. We’d highly recommend! This app won’t let me upload pictures or I would do so!

5.00Absolutely incredible from the second you leave Quito the drive is beautiful, horseback ride is stunning and the climb to base camp leaves you with a feeling of accomplishment. Also the guide was informative, funny, and made the experience even better.
What a nice walk to the volcano, we had to ice!

5.00We started very well when we arrived at Cotopaxi Park, we were taken to the stable to meet the horses that would give us the ride, very noble and meek, despite the light rain we enjoyed the tour a lot, the children at first got a little scared by riding alone, but the horses cooperated quite haha. And the hike on the skirt of the volcano very good, somewhat demanding but was achieved. And nature brought snow. Very good experience and attention from Alba and Dario.

5.00This was a bit unique from the other trips we looked at for Cotopaxi. We entered a different way, had the horseback ride and then proceeded to the base camp walk. This walk is at high elevation so it is a strenuous up hill climb but the pathways are good. We both enjoyed it.

5.00A beautiful, extraordinary experience with the most knowledgeable tour guide Dario! Communication was flawless, friendly and swift. Description of this tour is accurate. We saw a llama, Andean fox, white-tailed deer, wild horses, different birds and met some very friendly people on this trip as well. I had never ridden a horse before but that was not a problem. Highly recommended!

5.00Great tour to see cotopaxi national park - spent about 1 hour riding on the plains, beautiful scenary then climbed up to base camp. Took about 45 mins zig zagging up the mountain, snowed most of way up and lots of snow on the last part so wear appropriate footwear! Fatima was a great guide with a nice slow pace and plenty of breaks. Great hot chocolate at the top. Fatima and Dario were fab guides all day. Good communication before and after the tour, the pick up was about 30 mins late due to traffic but kept updated on whatsapp. Price for 1 person was a bit pricey, compared to if booking it for 2 people as it was a shared tour with 8 in total, so unsure why the big price difference for booking solo!

5.00The trip activities went exactly as expected, in spite of a very rainy day. The weather was of course no fault of the tour guides; Dario and Fatima made the best of it and we had a great day riding horses around the lower slopes of Cotopaxi, then hiking up to the Refugio (base camp) in the snow. A good day trip for active travelers!

5.00Dario and Fatima picked us up shortly after 07:00 at the agreed meeting point in Quito. On the way to the Cotopaxi Fatima taught us about the area, the people and the language, which was very informative. In the national park both prepared us for the ride and after a short briefing we started. The horses participated well and the about 1 hour ride gat we liked well. We continued with the bush at almost 4500 m. From there we started the tour to the base camp of the Cotopaxi at 4864 m. The air was really thin, but if you move slowly, you can do it. Upstairs there is a nice hoarse chocolate for $2.50 and a stamp in the passport. All in all an exciting tour with a good value for money ratio.
