City and Wine

Visit 2 or 3 artisan, family owned Hungarian winery at the country-side near Budapest. You will meet the winemakers and they will not only present their best wines, but you will be served with home made meal and/or traditional Hungarian flavored bites, depending the option you select. Taste 6-12 glasses wine in total and indulge the best tastes in a genuine Hungarian country-side environment. The Morning tour option offers you a quick journey to the countryside, with the tasting of 8 glasses of wine and completing your experience with a delicious home made Lunch. The Afternoon tour with Dinner option is a full-scale wine and meal experience in the countryside with 12 glasses of wine and a home-made Dinner. The Gastro-Bites with Wine tour offers a nice afternoon excursion to the Wine region where the focus is on showing the unique flavors of the Hungarian kitchen, with home made pate, sausage and many more, accompanied with 6 glassses of quality wine.

This tour of Etyek in the Hungarian wine country was fantastic! Our tour guide, Imre, gave us a Hungarian history lesson on the way to the countryside. This was an added bonus! He was a great communicator. He gave us a fascinating, clear concise recap of Hungary's history and social and cultural revolutions. The visit to 2 different wineries contrasted the old vs. the new winemaking methods. Each of the winemakers offered us tastings of superior wines. The lunch was excellent featuring traditional Hungarian foods. It is a great memory and I highly recommend to wine lovers.

An enjoyable, well organized morning tour. We asked for a pick up at the Marriott and the van was on time. After about a 1/2 hour drive into the countryside, our first stop was at a small family run winery with 8 different wines to sample as my husband and I shared. Our second stop provided us with a delicious 3 course meal with a wine pairing with each course. At each site the host and guide provided information pertaining to the wine making process. A very enjoyable day.

A true wine experience of local wineries. One very small vineyard with lots of history and an older winemaker using traditional,natural methods in awine cellar. The other a smaller vineyard with a great lunch. The guide, Livia, was very informative and a great translator. We enjoyed the day away from the city.

The white wines were not good. The only red, a pinot noir was very good. The food was extremely salty. Not acceptable.

A fantastic tour with Juliana as a guide, incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about wine. We were a small group of 5 people and Juliana made the tour very personal and offered a lot of stories and information about Budapest, Etyek and the two winemakers we visited.

We took the afternoon tour of 3 different Vineyards. Our guide was very good humoured and gave us a brief but informative overview of recent Hungarian & wine culture. All 3 vineyard’s we visited were interesting but (I think his name was) Charlie’s was our favourite. The wines were good but the countryside and locations were lovely & gave us a different experience of Hungary. The meal home cooked meal was delicious. Highly recommended

This tour features small family wineries not too far from Budapest. Our guide was excellent, making the entire experience informative and enjoyable. The wines were all good and the lunch was delicious. It was really a nice intimate experience especially to talk to the Vineyard owners themselves.
