Cu Chi Tunnels
We’ll pick you up at your Ho Chi Minh City hotel in the early morning, and you’ll travel with your English-speaking guide to the Cu Chi tunnels. The drive is around 60 km. At Cu Chi, you’ll be shown a documentary film about the tunnels and learn how the locals made bamboo traps, rice paper, and rice wine. You’ll then have the opportunity to explore the web of underground tunnels dug by Vietnamese resistance fighters.
My Tho
After exploring the tunnels, we’ll drive to My Tho. This is one of the provinces that comprise the Mekong Delta area. We’ll cruise by boat along the upper Mekong through a region with islands named after 4 animals that appear in Buddhist writings – Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Turtle. On this part of the tour, you’ll observe some of the activities of regional Vietnamese daily life and appreciate how life here depends on the River. We’ll then take you on a trip by rowboat along the small waterways. You’ll see the agricultural richness of the delta region in its fruit orchards, coconut groves, and bee-keeping farms. We’ll stop so you can enjoy honey tea, seasonal fruit, fresh coconut candy, and southern Vietnamese folk music. At the end of our tour, we’ll drive back to Ho Chi Minh City and drop you off at your hotel at around 18:00.

5.00Fantastic day with Matthew our guide. Transport was excellent even for a full bus. The Tunnels was a very humbling experience and made me realise how driven and ingenious the Viet Cong were. Matthew also explained in great detail the historical context of the tunnel system which really helped. Lovely lunch - so much food! Afternoon drive to Mekong was an experience in itself. But once there it is an amazing place and one the local Southern population should be rightly very proud. Fabulous trip, thanks.

5.00The trip was great and I recommend it. The guide Matthew was excellent. Through the tunnels he explained the whole history of the war. In the delta, the way of life and the different fruits that are grown. A really nice guide.

5.00Emily gave us a wonderful day tour visiting two amazing sites: the cu chi tunnels and the Mekong delta with a visit to unicorn island. It is a long day but definitely worth doing if you only have one day or are happy to only spend a small time in the Mekong delta.

5.00Great tour combining history and local culture in one day! The Củ Chi Tunnels were fascinating and gave real insight into Vietnam’s past, while the Mekong Delta was calm, scenic, and a lovely contrast. Boat rides through the canals and local experiences made it feel authentic. Well organized, comfortable transport, and a friendly, knowledgeable guide Emily. Highly recommend!

5.00I booked this day trip last minute, everything went smoothly and nothing to worry about. Emily contact me the night before regarding pick up time and all info I needed. Pick went quickly and we set off on our travels. Emily was very good at letting us know what was happening through the day. She is also very professional and experienced in all we needed during the day. Lunch was excellent in a very nice place at the Cu Ci Tunels site. Onto the Mekong Delta which was a fabulous experience and we enjoyed all the stops we made. Lots of opportunities to visit the HAPPY place 😀 overall we had a fabulous day, with Emily making it even better. Thank you for a fantastic experience which we will remember!

5.00What a great experience made special by our tour guide Kevin. Great communication throughout and very punctual arring ahead of schedule. Great drive to tunnels with a history lesson thrown in. Lunch was awesome and then a long drive to meikong river so able to catch-up on sleep after early morning start.
