- A half-day usually suffices. Aim to reach the tunnels either before 8:30 AM or around 2:30 PM. By this time, the morning queues have dwindled, and the afternoon temperature is more pleasant.

Private tour with Betty to Cu Chi Tunnels. Betty has so much knowledge not just about the Vietnam War but about the whole of Vietnam and neighbouring countries. Betty's English was amazing too. We did the private tour as a couple, driver and Betty. This meant we could stay for as long as we wanted. There were huge bus tours that had so many people on them that would be there all day. With the heat and crowds we were so happy we booked a private tour. Highly recommended.

Our guide Jen was excellent. We were given a full history lesson which made the journey to the tunnels more interesting as we had very little prior knowledge of the Vietnam war. The Cu Chi tunnels were fascinating. There is so much to see, (wear suitable clothing if you intend to go down the tunnels as it is dirty). We also had a stop at the handicapped “craft village” where those affected by agent orange” live and work. We bought some art pieces that were beautifully crafted. It was such an uplifting experience. This was definitely an unforgettable trip that we would highly recommend. Booking the private tour is the best choice as you can book a time to suit you and journey time is so much quicker. Added bonus is that you have a personal guide whose knowledge is first class, answering all our questions.

Excellent tour with Tu Thanh, very knowledgeable and we managed to get around before the crowds arrived. The tour was informative and very comprehensive.

Jen was an excellent guide, she is exceptionally knowledgeable on the history and is fascinating to listen to. Jen was very punctual meeting us in a lovely clean air conditioned car, with beautiful cool water. Jen explained all our questions- nothing was a bother she is amazing. I cannot recommend Jen enough this tour is a must do. Jen’s knowledge made the tour more special with her detailed knowledge and stories from the war. Jen supported us to go into the tunnels.

Dan was our guide for the cu Chi Tunnels tour. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, funny and made the almost 2 hour drive there pleasant. Fantastic tour and guide.
