  Absolutely fabulous trip in every way. Deeply local experiences in addition to normal tourist destinations. EXCELLENT driver in a country of crazy drivers! Able to gauge our abilities, encouraging us to climb Lions Rock (Sigiriya) and we did it! So proud of our 70 year old selves. Stops along way to try local foods, awesome cultural experience with Ox cart, lake boat, cooking class. Wonderful unexpected activity. Athula was extremely personable, working with our "wish list" of things to see and adding additional experiences. Very accommodating and helpful.   The sights were beautiful and the tour can be adjusted for different levels of fitness in terms of hiking/walking. The best part of the tour was the guide, Athula, who has great energy and personality. There is no doubt that Athula loves his home region, and is keen to share knowledge and show travelers the beautiful views. The experience felt genuine. It was like hanging out with a friend, instead of a generic spot-hopping tour. As Athula said to us, we come as visitors and leave as friends.

  I saw Athu's profile on Google Review and Trip Advisor and hired him for a custom waterfall tour. I had an amazing experience. The plan was to pick up my friend and me at Galboda Train station and visit Galboda, Laxapana, Bomburu Ella, Devon, St. Clair and Dunshine waterfalls over 2 days. Most of the hiking trails are not obvious unless you travel with someone who knows the trail. Athu is very knowledgeable about these trails. He is amazing, very kind, friendly, and very professional. Had the best time with his guidance. He not only drove us he hiked with us, even checking the depth of the streams before we stepped in them and made sure we were safe on slippery rocks. He was also my cameraman and took many breathtaking pictures. I have become his fan and friend now. An amazing human being.   We hired Athula for 4 days total. He drove us from Colombo to Dambulla, the next day he drove us from Dambulla to Trincomalee. A few days later, he drove us from Trincomalee to Kandy, and then the next day from Kandy to Colombo. His car was extremely comfortable and clean and his driving was excellent. He is extremely friendly, fun, pleasant and professional. We fell in love with Sri Lanka and when we return, we will be sure to hire Athula for any driving or tours. And I will be sure to recommend him to everyone who visits Sri Lanka. We couldn't have had a better driver.

  We were recommended Athula through a friend in the UK, and were so glad we went with Athula. We gave Athula a 3-day rough itinerary plan, but we said we would like to customise & change accordingly, we didn’t want to stick to deadlines or a strict timetable. Athula is a relaxing person to be around and we felt he was the perfect choice for us. Athula was very adaptable and made some suggestions, he recommended a lovely beach restaurant one day which we never would have found on our own. Athula is a very genuine person that wants to make sure you’re enjoying your time. The first day we were picked up in Ella and we drove to our hotel in Tangalle, we stoped off at the Diyaluma Falls on the way. The next day we visited Mirissa, Weligama, Koggala and Galle, Athula made sure we got a photo of the men in stilts. The next day we visited a beautiful temple called Mulkirigala Rock Temple - which is stunning and very quiet. We much preferred this to the temple in Kandy which was extremely busy.   Athula was recommended to us by a friend as a tour guide/driver and we are so glad we booked him for our trip! From the moment we contacted him he promptly replied to our messages and nothing was too much trouble. When we arrived in Sri Lanka, he collected us from the airport with a friendly smile. Athula was flexible for our travel plans and took us wherever we wanted to go. He also showed us some hidden gems which we would never have experienced without him! Visiting the tea plantation and riding in his vintage Jeep at sunset was the highlight of our trip. It’s worth mentioning that we travelled with our 2 year old daughter - Athula was so good with her but also patient/ understanding if our plans needed to change last minute. We felt so comfortable the entire trip because of his lovely, calming nature. So if you are looking for a trustworthy, warm, welcoming and helpful person to guide you around this beautiful country, don’t hesitate to contact Athula!   Incredible guide, very professional, attentive, reliable and very friendly. He organizes and adapts the tour according to your wishes and limitations. I had an injury, and he was able to find a suitable vehicle to take me as close as possible to the places. He took also very nice photos of me in front of the famous spots, as I was traveling solo. The price for the day is absolutely right, and well below the price of the services. He also offered to drive me to the airport, and when he had a problem with his vehicle, he quickly found a solution with one of his very professional driver friend. If you want to discover Ella and spend a wonderful time, he is the guide for you.

  Athu is the best driver in the world!! We had a great time with him, he picked us up from the ella town, we traveled together in sigiriya and he took us to the most important and famous places of the country . Athyla is a smart driver with a lot of knowledge and very good English, he is a very interesting person, if you go to Sri Lanka it is highly recommended to make an appointment only with Athu..!
