Visit ghosts of the past in the Cable Car City of Georgia. Experience history with a visit to a Soviet-era town, and get the chance to ride a Communist-era cable car, enjoy the stunning views, and feel the soviet spirit. During this tour visit Katskhi Pillar, which is a more than 40-meter-tall limestone pillar with an Orthodox monastery perched on top, built in the 6th to 8th centuries. We will visit the Mghimevi Monastery founded in the 13th century, which is one of the outstanding monuments in Georgia.

Katskhi Pillar
Katski is a stairway to heaven, located near Chiatura, (13,4 km). This is the symbol of this region, as too many people get there to this natural masterpiece- kind of a wonder-place. Here lives only one monk. This is a place, where one can really feel how close the God is, the monk himself said, that it is up here in the silence, that one can feel God’s presence. Unfortunately, my sound masculine, but women are not allowed to get there. It is approximately 40 meters high

5.00We went with an amazing guide Shota. He's the best guide we had on our vacation, he told about everything in this region. It was amazing journey, if you had your secret wishes, tell to him, he is a wizard😄😄😄can"t wait till my next vacation in Georgia. Will recomend Shota 10/10 as a guide!!!!

5.00We had a pleasant day with Tornike, who showed us some really nice spots in and around Chiatura. Chiatura was the most "Soviet" town we've visited so far. On the back to Kutaisi we even stopped for a couple of places we wanted to see as well.
Highly recommended! Amazing experience.

5.00This tour service is one of the best we've used in the Caucasus. Chiatura, Katskhi Pillar and Mgvimevi Monastery were amazing. Our guide was very knowledgeable and very nice, very good english skills and even got us into the small Chiatura local museum, in spite of the building where it is housed being renovated, we loved that visit. Highly recommended!
