Old Bazaar - Skopje
Our day tour to Skopje will start with pick up from your centrally located hotel/accommodation in Sofia at 08:00 am. After approximately 4 hours of drive, we will reach Skopje. During the long drive, you will learn the Bulgarian point of view regarding the history of the region. Then you will have two hours guided tour of the city made by a local Macedonian guide. You will have the chance to hear the stories about Yugoslavia and the modern way of life in the country from a native, which will make your experience much more fulfilled. In addition, you will compare the two historical interpretations and make your own conclusions. The highlights you will visit are the Old fortress, Sultan Murat Mosques, and the Old Bazaar, where we will have the chance to see Caravanserais (inns) from the Ottoman period when Skopje was one of the main trade centers on the Balkans.

5.00Good experience and way to see a new country. The old bazaar was our favourite. Just been mindful when booking this trip there’s a lot of walking but it’s 100% worth it!

5.00Wonderful service from Dimo who picked me up from my hotel and gave us some interesting details about Sofia and Bulgaria during our drive. Our guide in skopje was very good and took us to all of the sites in the city and gave us a lot of interesting history about the country. The drive didn't feel that long and it was very comfortable. I didn't know a lot about Macedonia before I went so this was a great introduction to the country.

4.00It is a long drive with a lot of time in the van but it was comfortable and well worth it. The tour in Skopje did seem rather rushed but I think the guide wanted to make sure that we had plenty of time to expend exploring on our own. We thoroughly enjoyed our day.

5.00It’s a long day (12hrs) but a good way to get to visit Skopje with a guide and time to explore without having to make travel arrangements from Sofia. The driver was excellent and helpful at the border. The guide in Skopje was lovely and informative.

5.00Our trip to Skopje was long and, in terms of sightseeing, relatively modest, but it held a very special purpose for us. Visiting the birthplace of Saint Mother Teresa was the highlight of the journey and made the entire experience worthwhile. Standing in the city where her remarkable story began gave the trip a sense of meaning that went far beyond typical tourism. Aside from this spiritual and emotional milestone, there wasn’t a great deal to explore, but the overall experience was made comfortable thanks to our driver Luboslav. He was exceptionally professional, skilled, and proficient in English, ensuring a smooth and safe ride throughout the day. Traveling in a small group of just six people also made the journey more relaxed and personal. While Skopje may not offer an abundance of attractions for every traveler, our purpose was fulfilled, and for that reason, the trip was truly valuable to us.

5.00Fantastic historical and cultural experience at Skopje. Our driver Rosen, was an excellent driver. On time pick up and drop off. Our tour was supposed to be a small group tour, but it ended up as a private tour as we were the only ones booked for the day. Lena, our tour guide in Skopje was very informative and took her time explaining the details of the sites we visited. We also had an ample free time to explore on our own and shop. Skopje is beautiful and with rich and diverse cultures deeply rooted in history. I highly recommend this tour.
