Discover the Kuang Si Waterfalls and enjoy a sunset cruise on the Mekong River. Swim in the turquoise pools, explore forest trails, and relax with a drink on the cruise.

Begin your day with a hotel pickup in Luang Prabang around 1:30 PM. Travel by minivan to Kuang Si Waterfalls. Arrive and have approximately two hours of free time to relax, swim in the turquoise pools, or explore the forest trails.

Continue by minivan to the nearby Kuang Si Heritage Rice Farm, situated on the banks of the Mekong River. Board a comfortable boat for a leisurely sunset cruise back to Luang Prabang, with drinks served on board as the sun sets over the river.

Your journey concludes with arrival in Luang Prabang at approximately 6:30 PM., where you will be transferred to the city center or back to your hotel.

Kuang Si Waterfall

[Full Day Option Only] Upon arrival around 12PM, you'll bypass the main crowds and embark on a special 45-minute trek along a secluded forest trail. This path leads you through the protected watershed, the very source of Kuang Si's magic, where ancient trees stand guard over the springs.

Note:: Drive to the waterfall and spend 2-3 hours at leisure. On the way back, take a sunset cruise (approximately 2 hours).

Beautiful waterfalls and wonderful tour! Pany our guide was such a warm and kind person. He made sure to get good Photos of everyone and the group as a whole! The day was just gorgeous and the boat ride home was a wonderful way to end the day. So glad I booked this tour.

Good experience. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Enjoyed the Hmong village tour. Good value for the price. Half day is the right amount of time.
I will join the full-day tour with you when I come back to Luang Prabang again.

Our tour guide, Phan, was really nice and friendly. The half-day tour was well-timed and felt complete. After the tour, I could choose where I wanted to go, and they kindly dropped me off at the nearest location. If I had more time, I would definitely join the full-day tour as well. Unfortunately, I couldn’t because I had to catch my train to Vientiane at 6:35 PM.

It is a magic experience. There is huge amounts of water gushing down and the roads to the waterfall are full with potholes. It takes much longer to get there than normal. I have seen this waterfall when it was at “lower” water levels and not gushing down so fast. The pools look turquoise then. Right now they are a milky brown colour. Still a great experience.

We were collected on time and transferred to another bus we met our very talkative guide who was certainly lively on a morning and a really lovely person. He explained that on the tour some were doing half day and others full day. To be honest the full day tour sounded much better but it would have been another 20$ to switch across. After a while we stopped at a Hmong Village where another group had already arrived so we had to join in with them and we couldn’t always see. After they left we then had the parts that we missed initially. It was interesting and definitely an important cultural experience. Onwards to the waterfalls which were flooding and many of the walkways were not passable but there was a road. We brought towels hoping to take a plunge but there was no change given the wet season, this should be made clearer on the site. Lots of time here so we climbed the 500 steps to the top of the waterfall where you pay another fee for the view. It was a great experience but not for those who aren’t physically fit. There was little else to do actually so I imagine those who didn’t climb must have spent time looking at the bears or just staring at the waterfall, which is very beautiful. Afterwards we were dropped back to Luang Prabang and then transferred to another bus to drop us at our hotels, we were back for around 1.30pm while the whole day tour guests went on for an included lunch.

It was a nice day out, with short visit to a Hmong village and then the beautiful waterfalls. On the way back the guide initiated a stop at a buffalo ice cream shop. That was a nice bonus.

Great tour with everything promised included - reliable departure and arrival pickups. The tour components.. Village life 30 minutes with a dance performance and daily activities. Waterfall starts on a golf buggy ride to the bottom of the Falls.. Followed by a walk up a winding road to the main fall area and for the brave 600 steps to a viewing platform..(thats not included in the tour) 2 hours allowed to explore the waterfall and surrounds.

We have to rate this tour really low because they did not honor the contracted pickup time which was between 8:20am to 8:50am that was emailed to us the evening before. So the driver showed up at 8am as we were ABOUT to eat breakfast - didn’t have our coffee yet! So the kitchen scrabbled to pack our food while we scrambled to get our things together. Otherwise the Kuang Si Falls were beautiful, we swam in the crystal clear water as the little fish attacked our feet !the Hmong was an interesting visit and they demonstrated how they live, hunt and make fabric and music. Overall it was great half day tour that started off on the wrong foot but ended up being a highlight of our Luang Prabang visit despite the rain and early unexpected start.

We loved this. Our tour guide, Won, was just terrific. Knowledgeable and kind and helpful. And the falls were very worth it. Our teenagers never wanted to get out of the water! And the falls are magnificent.
