Leaving Jerusalem, we’ll travel south through the beautiful Judean Desert to the foot of the Masada fortress which stands beside the Dead Sea. You’ll take a cable car to the top of the fortress, enjoy the special views, and explore the archaeological ruins. Masada is one of Israel’s most important archaeological sites, and the site of one of the greatest tales of Jewish heroism. The excavated ruins are fascinating to explore, and the remarkable location high above the surrounding desert and the Dead Sea, makes this an impressive experience. You’ll ascend to the top of Masada via a cable car.
En Gedi Nature Reserve
We will drive to Ein Gedi, a desert oasis where you can take a short hike, where you’ll likely encounter mountain goats and other creatures among the vegetation. The nature reserve includes a stream of cool running water, leading to various pools and refreshing springs, where you are welcome to bathe on hot days.

Samuel was very knowledgeable. The tour was prompt and meeting point was easy to find. My husband hiked the masada up/down. He said, it was a little hard with his bad knees . Bring a small flashlight because it is still a little dark at 5am. But the view up the Masada is interesting. Ein Jedi and Dead Sea was amazing. The tour gave us enough time to explore.

It was quite a climb up the Snake Trail, but this 68-year old made it. I earned a beer at the lowest bar on Earth at the Dead Sea stop.

Great tour overall!! The pickup was smooth and there was a good amount of time allowed for exploring Masada (AMAZING sunset views and ruins). I wish we could have explored Ein Gedi a bit more as Wadi David is not that impressive, but the visit to the Dead Sea was stellar. Could have stayed for hours more!!

We are in our 60s and handled the trail up in time for the sunrise. The small group was collegial and the driver engaging. The waterfalls at Ein Gedi were awesome.

Be prepared to climb in the darkness. Wear appropriate shoes and bring drinks, a snack, and maybe a small flashlight wouldn't be so bad.
