Really moving and informative tour covering the history of Derry, the Civil Rights movement, Free Derry, Bloody Sunday, and the Troubles by John Mc Kinney, a great speaker, and brother of William Mc Kinney 27 year old victim of Bloody Sunday.

This tour takes place at the Free Derry Museum which makes you want to support it already. John explained everything with such detail. His storytelling keeps your attention the entire tour. You see firsthand where these tragedies took place as well as how it arose. John was beyond kind in answering every question we had. A thought provoking, kind, compassionate man. So grateful for the opportunity to meet such a great man.

John did a great job giving us the kind of emotional understanding of The Troubles you don’t get by only reading about it in history books

This tour was an amazing insight into the experiences that the people of Derry went through. It was interesting and well documented. I would recommend this trip to anyone who is interested in Northern Ireland’s history.

Great tour with Micky. This was one of the best tours that I’ve done. Micky did an excellent job and was extremely knowledgeable and spoke from his firsthand experience and a deep knowledge of the topic. I also appreciated his laid back manner and occasional humor. Highly recommend this tour and Micky as a guide.

Overall it was good and very interesting. Noel was a gentleman and it was interesting to hear his personal experience living through the troubles. Being Irish, we knew the history but for non Irish it would be helpful to start with a quick overview of how/why Derry was part of UK and who the various groups (IRA RUC, etc) were and what they represented and were fighting for

Wonderful, educational, moving experience. Tour given by a gentlemen who lived through Bloody Sunday and saw friends gunned down. We learned so much about that day and the Troubles in general.
