Hidden within the estate lies Aideen’s Grave, an ancient tomb linked to Irish mythology and the legendary love story of Aideen and the warrior Oscar.
The journey continues to the historic Martello Tower, built during the Napoleonic Wars to defend Dublin Bay, where spectacular views stretch across the sea to Ireland’s Eye, an island rich in wildlife, ruins and local legend.

It’s so easy to get to Howth from Dublin’s city center and considering how beautiful it is, it is absolutely necessary to go there if you’re ever in Dublin! Missy and Mark were the perfect tour guides. Missy knew where exactly all the great places to go were and Mark was extremely knowledgeable and really had a passion and enthusiasm for Howth that really showed! I learned so much and had a fantastic time. This was easily my favorite tours that I went on when I was in Ireland! Mark generates a video at the end that shows a map of you exactly where you went and has pictures and videos. Missy was a great dog model and fun to pose with. Well worth it!

I took the shorter afternoon walking tour and was the only traveler on this early spring day. Mark took me around Howth's beautiful views, tirelessly joking and telling stories and chatting about his life in Howth. Lovely dog Missy accompanied us, and though she only has eyes for Mark she was happy to chase a few balls thrown by me. Mark is personable, smart, and delightful company. I'm delighted I took this tour on a whim and think it was one of the best things I did in Ireland. Highly recommend him and Missy!

We were a party of 4, 2 from California, 1 from the UK and a local Dub! Mark completely got the mix of us. He had us all in stitches with his comedic stories. But don't let that take away from his great historical knowledge of the area. We thoroughly enjoyed the 2 hours walk around Howth with him and couldn't believe it went by so quickly. Missy his dog, was an added bonus - such a cutie. We will always book with Mark in the future when we have friends over to stay. Can't recommend him highly enough.
