Have you been scuba diving in Mauritius yet? Beginners and children over 8 years old welcome. During this dive, you can see a large variety of reef life as though you were swimming in an aquarium! If you dive at the right time, you can even see dolphins, rays and other large pelagic creatures.

The Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) is a combination of 3 learning steps. You are guided by a PADI qualified instructor on a ratio of 1:4. 1- A 20-30 minute theory session where scuba gear and its use is introduced to the diver, explanations on safety, skill developments, underwater sign language and the importance of protecting the natural ocean environment and it's inhabitants. 2- There is a 1st confined dive in the shallows at the beach between 0.6 - 1.8 meters for skill practice focused on mask clearing, removal and recovery of your mouthpiece and buoyancy exercises using the jacket and breathing. 3- If all 3 exercises have been performed satisfactorily, a 2nd fun dive without exercises is carried out further out on the reef in a depth ranging from 6-12 meters for a duration of 30-45 minutes, according to the divers air consumption.

Cannot recommend Ocean Spirit highly enough! My husband and I have both never scuba dived before so this was a totally new experience to us. We did the Discover Scuba Dive last week and had Bernard as our instructor, with Nando also on the dive instructing other divers. Both made us feel incredibly comfortable and safe, and it felt like we were among friends. Bernard explained everything extremely well and the initial training was great! Felt very at ease when we went out on the actual dive and it was the most magical experience ever. We saw so many different fish, most notable being the ribbon eel and stone fish. We enjoyed it so much that, when a different excursion was cancelled at the last minute, we called Ocean Spirit up and booked in for another dive which luckily they were able to accommodate at short notice. We were thrilled to have Bernard as our instructor again and the second dive was even more fabulous than the first. Thanks to Bernard and the team at Ocean Spirit, my husband and I have both fallen in love with scuba diving and will be looking to get the certifications. If you’re thinking of giving scuba diving a go, I would definitely recommend it, and I would definitely recommend doing it with Ocean Spirit!

Absolutely incredible experience! Breathtaking views of coral and lots of different types of fish including rainbow fish, stone fish, ribbon eel and dolphins. Our dive instructor, Bernard, was friendly, very knowledgable, calming, fun and understanding of different experience levels in our group. Such a fantastic person who made the whole experience amazing! We would recommend this tour to anybody!

We were welcomed in a freezing Mood, equipped with 3 mm holed suits, while you wanted 5 mm being in winter (the guide wore 3 3 mm suits. He knew it was cold). The dive had to be cut short because we were cold in the suits far from waterproof. The boat did not come to pick us up, we waited 10 minutes on the surface, another dive boat even offered to pick us up, my vest was deflated to whistle in the emergency whistle, we did not have our dive parameters back to the club. The club is very dirty, it smells like urine ++, and a mop shot wouldn't hurt. In short really not to recommend, deplorable experience for accustomed divers.

We recently had the incredible opportunity to experience scuba diving with Ocean Spirit! We did Discover Scuba Diving. It was the very first time for the whole family with three teenagers, and it was nothing short of amazing! We were all excited but admittedly a bit nervous about what to expect underwater. Our dive instructors Nando & Yo were incredibly professional, patient, and friendly, making us feel at ease right from the start. They took the time to explain the basics of diving and ensured that everyone, from the youngest teen to the oldest adult, was comfortable with the gear and techniques before entering the water. This preparation made a huge difference in making us feel secure and helped us feel ready to explore. The moment we descended into the water, all our worries disappeared. The underwater world was like nothing we’d ever imagined—vibrant coral reefs, schoal of fish, and the serene quiet of the ocean enveloped us. Watching our teenagers' faces light up when they saw colorful fish swimming together was priceless. It was such an exciting experience and we found ourselves laughing and sharing the excitement of seeing marine life for the first time. The dive was an experience! My husband and I were thrilled to share something so unique with our teens, and they absolutely loved it. It’s not often that we find activities that appeal to all ages, but this one brought us closer together in ways we never expected. If you're considering trying scuba diving as a family, I highly recommend Ocean Spirit. It’s an adventure that provides a perfect mix of adrenaline and tranquility, and it’s one that we will cherish forever. We can’t wait to dive again!

Our diving experience was amazing—we saw everything! The crew was outstanding, and we couldn't have asked for more. They took the time to assess our varying skills and comfort levels, and for the more nervous members, they arranged one-on-one instruction to ensure a calm and smooth experience.We initially booked with a different company, but their service was lacking in organization and consideration for our different abilities. Switching to this team was the best decision—they were extremely friendly, professional, and made the dive experience perfectly tailored to our group. They even captured some beautiful family photos underwater, which was an extra special touch. Big thanks to Bobby and Berno for making this an unforgettable adventure!

Amazing experience that is very well explained, educated and tested in a safe environment. Providing you with great confidence to perform your first scuba dive experience. Groups of 2 people per instructor and a guided experience in a beautiful part of the island. Highly recommended.

This experience was one in a lifetime. Our whole family, including a 17 and 13 year old, had never been scuba diving before. I was quite nervous but the guys looked after us all with such patience. They kitted us out with equipment and took us across the road to the sea to learn how to use everything. Following that we took a short boat ride out through the most amazing blue water to a coral reef in the ocean. The water was so clear and the fish were amazing. There were lots of varieties of fish including lion fish and huge conga eels. Amazing experience. Thanks so much to the 4 guys who dived with us.
