From the moment you step into our Mate Bar, the atmosphere wraps around you: rustic wood, countryside details, soft folkloric music, and the warmth of an old-fashioned pulpería. You quickly realize that mate is not just a drink — it’s a living tradition and a way to connect. In this unique experience, you’ll learn how to cure the calabash —the traditional gourd used to drink mate— and how to prepare (cebar) a proper mate, just like Argentinians do: at the perfect temperature, with care and intention. During the round, you’ll taste five varieties of premium yerba mate —organic, pesticide-free, and aged for 24 months— served in the most traditional ways: amargo (bitter), dulce (sweet), cocido (steeped like tea), and tereré (cold and refreshing). Each style is paired with stories that connect the Guaraní origins of mate with gaucho traditions and everyday Argentine life. The experience also includes local flavors that complete the ritual: medialunas (Argentine croissants) from one of the best bakeries in BA, and a sweet ending where you’ll craft your own alfajores filled with creamy dulce de leche. We’ll be waiting for you with the water at the perfect temperature. Sip a mate!

A wonderful experience that combines history, flavors and tradition. I learned about the origins of Yerba Mate while tasting different varieties. As a brooch we learned to make “alfajores express” It is an authentic and original proposal in a beautiful place, recommended to those who want to know the essence of Argentine culture. And the guys guiding the experience are very warm!

What a surprise this was for me! I went in thinking I'd just try some mate, and it turned out to be an amazing experience. Not only did I learn about Argentina's great national drink, but also about the culture, traditions, and a ton of things I never thought I'd get to know. And the guys there were geniuses! Totally recommended.

This experience is truly amazing. I was always curious why Argentine and Uruguayan footballers took it so much and here I really understood why. The place is very nicely ambienced, the guides are friendly and super cool. The price is according to experience: they give you many mattes to try, crescents, alfajores, etc. It's rating very much that they love what they do. In the end they give you recommendations for things to do in the city and a light bulb and a portion of matte for you to share with your people.

The Mate Bar Experience went beyond all our expectations. I went with friends and we didn’t just learn about the history and ritual of mate – we truly lived it: from preparing it like a gaucho to sharing the round while laughing together. The place has an amazing atmosphere, full of authentic details, and you can really feel the passion behind it. What surprised us the most was the warmth of the hosts: by the end of the experience, they didn’t feel like guides anymore, but like friends we had shared something special with. We went with my nieces, we thought it was particularly spectacular. Cristhian our guide taught us history, how to make a good mate, different types of weed. Everything! Super recommended!
