・Enjoy matcha green tea and Japanese sweets while learning about the spiritual philosophy of Iaido — the art of perfecting swordsmanship not for battle, but for protection and self-discipline.
・At the end of the session, you’ll receive a personalized “Samurai Training Certificate” and an original tenugui (Japanese hand towel) as a special gift.
・The experience takes place just a short distance from Kumamoto Castle, making it easy to combine both for a memorable visit.

During the Iaido session, please remove jackets or heavy outerwear before changing into the keikogi training attire.
You may keep your T-shirt or light top on underneath while we assist you with the fitting.
Please wear clothing that is easy to move in. Pants are fine, but skirts or dresses are not recommended.

This experience uses replica (practice) swords. For your safety, please strictly follow the instructor’s guidance and handle all equipment with care.
While we provide tea and sweets during the experience, if you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please inform us in advance and consume the provided items accordingly.
If the tour is cancelled due to weather or other circumstances, we will notify you by phone by 4:00 PM the day before the tour.
This plan includes an English interpreter.

The following two points are the characteristics of Musashi Miyamoto, the founder of Niten Ichiryu, which you will experience this time. (1) He was a samurai who focused and improved on his artistic sense. He created various works of art, believing that enhancing artistry is the most important way to hone his swordsmanship. Miyamoto Musashi's ink paintings and tsuba (metal sword guards) are stored at the Shimada Museum of Art in Kumamoto City. (2) He mastered his own swordsmanship in order to protect his family and master. As the era changed from the Sengoku period, which was an era of war, to the Edo period, which sought peace, people lived not only to win battles, but also to master swordsmanship in order to protect and keep the peace. This style of swordsmanship and spirituality is Iaido. 5.00Was an amazing experience learning some history and performing a full katana kata, was so great! After changing into the Edo period outfit. Both instructors were great and guided me through the class with ease.

5.00Originally had some concerns but this is the real deal. A true head of the sword system of Miyamoto Musashi. An experience that surpassed all expectations. Tailored to the skill of each person. This is a true martial arts experience and a must for all those with a love of Budo. A lovely family dojo and such genuinely generous people.
