On this tour, you will experience Bonaire's Donkey Sanctuary - a habitat created to rescue donkeys needing extra care, food and water. You will interact with the donkeys throughout the drive as they regularly "say hello" and attempt to put their noses through the car window! You can also purchase a few carrots at the sanctuary to feed a few lucky donkeys while on your visit.

At the sanctuary, you will also see a few other things. The Special Care Unit is an area of the sanctuary where we will learn about the services provided to bring a distressed donkey back to health. You can also visit the garden, where you will see local plants, tortoises, and iguanas.

Climbing the watchtower will give you a great view of the entire sanctuary and an excellent photo opportunity. We'll round out our visit with a refreshing drink from the terrace, where you can spot some beautiful pink flamingos over the salt lake.

5.You may bring vegetables or fruit pieces to feed the donkeys

Before the Tour:

Hotel or apartment guests: For the meeting, please meet your guide at the reception, and if you are staying at an apartment; your driver will be at the address you provided on the booking.

Cruise Ship guests: Your guide will welcome you with your first name or last name on a sign in front of the cruise ship exit/enter gate where your ship is docked. As you walk away from your ship, you will be approaching a security checkpoint gate. When you exit the gate, walk straight forward, and look straight ahead. Your guide will be there 15 minutes before the start of your tour to collect you.

Very IMPORTANT: If you don't see your guide with your name, please stay at the gate of your ship and do NOT walk away and look for your guide; let your guide look for you.

We GUARANTEE to have you BACK TO THE SHIP 1 hour before the ship departure time.

This is a small group guided tour of up to 7 people per vehicle. You will be in a shared van, car, or pick-up depending on the number of guests.

Our prices include a 6% government tax.

Our goal is for you to leave the Island happier than when you arrived.

Cruise Ship Passengers: Your guide will welcome you with your first name or last name on a sign in front of the cruise ship exit/enter gate where your ship is docked. Kralendijk

At the start of the tour, we will tell you about the downtown area of Kralendijk. Downtown Kralendijk consists of a few streets and is easily walkable. Kaya Grandi is the Main Street, where you will find most shops, restaurants, and cafes. After the tour, we can drop you off in the centre if you want to do some shopping and walk around. If you're on a cruise, the ship port is about a 5-minute walk from the downtown district, and you can easily see and walk back to your ship before departure.

Our family loved this experience so much, we went twice! Professionally run and obviously full of love for the animals. We'll go again on our next trip to Bonaire!

It cancelled. I understand people get sick. I hope they are well. The tour company was upfront about the cancellation. Still haven’t been refunded though.
This could be the greatest experience of your life.

Wow, if you think you’ve seen a lot of the world experience this underground trip. You'll be surprised what this trip does to you. The adventure, the beauty, the history of the cave but above all the serenity and quality of our guide Arturo. I thought it was just another cave I'm going to see. But swimming in the serious room of a cave in mega clear water....that is top 5 material of everything you are going to see in your life. For adventurers who are good on their feet and love a challenge, Arturo guides you through 3 beautiful caves.

Arturo was awesome and the trip was so much more than we expected! Definitely strenuous, but so worth it and Arturo helped guide us, including my 65 yr old Mom all the way down to the pool and through every part of the caves! Definitely a lifelong memory and highlight of our trip! Thanks a ton, sir!

Arturo, our guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable and helpful. The tour was unique and pretty demanding, but Arturo made it seemless. Highly recommended!! It's a once in a lifetime experience.

We had a great time at the donkey sanctuary. Angie did a wonderful job explaining the working of the sanctuary and we bought some food and enjoyed feeding the donkeys by hand. They milled about our car as we entered and cantered beside us as we headed for the lookout. They were so soulful as they stared at us in their paddock. We visited the hospital where they had newborns and donkeys who were recovering from illness. Overall a very special place which needs visitors to help fund their efforts.

There is a lot more to Bonaire than you might expect. Having Arturo as a guide who wanted us to get the most out of our time was great. Was able to mix things up

There were many donkeys which came up to the van. When out of the van we were able to be amount the donkeys, watched as the were fed and generally have a very good experience.

Unfortunately we never connected with the person who was to meet us holding our name on it as we walked straight ahead after the security gate where our ship was docked. We were there 1/2 ahead and stayed 1/2 past the time. These were the directions we had and am sure they asked for the name of our ship when I signed up. Our cell phones did not work once off the ship. We were disappointed and don’t know how to follow up. We took 2 trips through Viator last year and both were excellent.
