Lovrjenac Fortress
One of five main fortresses of Dubrovnik city walls system. It is built on a 30m high rock, a strategic position for defending Dubrovnik. From top of the fort you will be able to see why it was so important to control the high peaks around the town if you wanted to win the battle in the Medieval times. It is a masterpiece of military architecture with walls facing the sea between 8 and 12 meters thick. And it is only an introduction to the city walls!
Dubrovnik City Walls
Dubrovnik has one of the most preserved city walls system in the world. The walls are 1940-meters-long with 5 fortresses (Lovrijenac, Revelin, Minčeta, Bokar, and St John). While walking along the city walls, you will be able to see all the main sites of Dubrovnik but from a different perspective - from the height.

5.00We travel to Europe 2-3 times a year and always have at least one history-ish tour to learn about the area. This was one of the best we have ever taken part in and mostly that was due to our guide Josip. The tour was so interesting and fun. But beware! There are so many steep steps and climbs on this tour, which does get you to the fantastic views of the city, but don’t go into this tour thinking you will be out for a stroll!

5.00We visited many of the tourist attractions due to the fact that we bought the Dubrovnik pass. It is an essential addition to your holiday if you are staying for a while. We got a 3 day pass for 45 euros which included free bus transportation for 72 hrs from activating the pass. Absolute bargain as Walking the walls is 35 euros on its own. The pass covers about 8 different museums etc. We walked the walls as our main event due to being Game of Thrones fanatics. It is an amazing experience with views that are amazing. Along the walls there are a few places to stop for refreshments and toilets. We just strolled around at a leisurely pace taking many pics. We absolutely loved the experience but there loads of steps to climb and descend so a reasonably moderate level of fitness is helpful.
