National Museum of Antiquities
The Museum is proud to own artifacts of the Eneolithic and Bronze Age from the agricultural settlement of Sarazm, site included in the UNESCO World heritage list. The finds dating from the Hellenistic period coming from the Oxus Temple, excavated at the site of Takhti Sangin on the banks of the Amu Darya River are unique. A portrait of Alexander the Great in the image of Hercules, the Akinakes scabbard, a plate depicting hunting scenes and other items made of ivory are masterpieces of world art. Finds from the Oxus temple are an illustrative example of the synthesis of two cultures the local and ancient Greek. The wall paintings from ancient Penjikent (5th – 7th C), presented in the Museum are included in the Golden Fund of world culture. Buddhists from many countries worldwide make the pilgrimage to one of the most striking sights of the Museum, the "Buddha in Nirvana", almost 13-metre statue made of clay, which is today one of the largest ancient monument of Buddhism in the world.
Statue of Ismoil Somoni
located in the center of Dushanbe is the heart of the capital and entire Tajikistan. Its name is translated as “Friendship Square”. However, locals call this place “monument of Ismail Somoni” or “Park Somoni” as there is a monument to the founder of the Tajik state Ismail Somoni. The towering 13 m high Ismail Somoni Monument is the signature attraction of the Dusti square. Beautiful arch (over 43 m) is mounting the monument. The monument embodies main symbols of Tajik statehood: crown and scepter adorned with seven stars.

Arrived at Dushambe and pasport control only finished at 10.15 and immediately called the local guide even though we informed to pick up at 11.00. The driver is good and safe to drive the car. The local guides Dilnoza were very good, informative and helpful. For lunch, take us to a local food Tajikistan in Toqi restaurant
