Dushanbe is home to the highest flag in the world, which has been included in the Guinness Book of Records! With a population of over a million, Dushanbe is a bustling metropolis.
Modern Dushanbe is a city where you can experience the vibrant energy of the East, and at the same time, it is the cultural, economic, and political centre of the country. The city boasts a monument to the founder of the Tajik state, Ismail Somoni, and a statue of the poet Rudaki, the founder of Tajik-Persian classical poetry. The city's Islamic architecture is exemplified by the mosque and madrasah of Haji Yakub.
Last year, over one million foreign visitors came to the country. While previously the main flow was from CIS countries, now most of the travelers are residents of far-flung abroad, including the USA and Europe.

Great overview of the city. Don’t compromise with it with other tours which offer both the city and other places. You get to visit more Dushanbe destinations here.

Great tour! I saw so much of the city in one day than I would have if I had done it solo. Having a 2 hr private tour of the national museum was great as I felt I got to know a lot about this country. My guide, Hikmatullo, was early in picking me up and very knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour (and guide) to anyone.

Our guide, Hokim was amazing. This review is more geared towards him. Some of the sites were closed by the government but he was able to improvise. We were also looking for postcards which are apparently not popular in Tajikistan. He drove us to a bunch of places until we finally found one. Since we were leaving the next day he took them to the post office for us and got them stamped/mailed

Friendly tour guide, but I think management should train him better to proactively tell the history of the country. He took me to all famous sights and introduced me to the local food. However, I had to always ask questions about the country's history, demographics, and other facts which are always introduced upfront by other guides without me having to ask for it.
