  We had such an amazing experience with this cooking class in Sri Lanka! From start to finish, everything was perfect. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the team made us feel right at home. The class was incredibly well organized and fun. We learned to cook several traditional Sri Lankan dishes step by step, with clear explanations and lots of tips that we can actually reuse at home. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were incredible, and it was so rewarding to cook everything ourselves. What really made it special was the people — so kind, patient, and passionate about sharing their culture and cuisine. It felt much more than just a cooking class; it was a genuine cultural experience. We absolutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone visiting Sri Lanka. One of the highlights of our trip!   We had such a lovely experience at Mother’s Cooking Class in Ella — it was one of the most authentic and enjoyable things we did during our trip. The setting is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by nature, which made the whole experience feel really special and peaceful. It’s such a unique place to learn to cook, and you really feel immersed in the local culture. During the class, we made a full traditional Sri Lankan meal — rice and five different curries, including chicken curry, cabbage curry, coconut sambal, lentil curry, and potato curry. Everything was explained so clearly, and it was amazing to learn how each dish is made from scratch. The food turned out absolutely delicious, and it was so satisfying getting to eat everything we had prepared. It felt very hands-on and authentic, rather than overly formal, which made it even more enjoyable. The only thing to note is that there are quite a lot of steps to reach the class, and they can be a bit uneven — so just something to be aware of. But honestly, the experience is so worth it once you get there. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Ella — such a memorable way to experience Sri Lankan food and culture.

  Yesterday we had a cooking class with Irosha and her lovely mother. They taught us how to cook a bunch of different curry’s and side dishes. The place has an amazing view so that made the cooking experience even better! If you are looking for a great Sri Lankan cooking experience we would recommend coming here! Thank you so much and when we get to Sri Lanka again, we will be back!

  Highly reccomend this cooking class! The cooking class takes place in the beautiful family home on the mountainside in an undercover outdoor kitchen, using traditional cooking methods and fresh local food. The mother and daughter team are warm and welcoming hosts, providing plenty of information and advice to make the meals and recipes to do at home.   Great fun and informative cookery lesson. Irosha and her mum Kamila are so lovely and patient. The open kitchen is wonderful.

  We absolutely loved this experience. The setting was lovely, everything clean and tidy although cooking outside. Instructions very clear and everyone had a chance to try things. Mother and daughter an excellent team and we've already made the recipes we were sent back at home. Would highly recommend

  A must on Ella for us. Wood burning kitchen, outdoors, with incredible views and some ingredients that come directly from the garden. It was a feast! An authentic, informative and kind experience at Mom’s Kitchen, easy to do at home after the holidays. Warning, this course is at the beginning of the trail to Little Adam's Peak.
