  This was a highlight of our holiday. We met this wonderful Sri Lankan family who taught us their delicious cooking. It was amazing and the flavours were so good. They explained it all so well and we feasted on all the curries at the end. I was surprised how much we cooked. I would really recommend this for a family. Excellent value too.

  I booked this cooking course spontaneously on the same day I arrived in Ella, and it turned out to be one of the absolute highlights of my trip. I’ve done several great cooking classes in other countries, but this one was truly special – pure Sri Lankan family-style cooking at its best. The mother and daughter hosting the class were incredibly warm and welcoming, and their little nephew/grandchild added even more charm to the experience. They took their time to explain every step, shared helpful tips, and created such a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere. We laughed a lot and felt completely at home. And the food… simply amazing! I’m so excited to recreate everything back home. I would highly recommend this class to anyone visiting Ella. Thank you so much!

  We made fantastic sri lankan currys and rice, after travelling for 14 days, this was still the best curry and rice we had on our vacation. They where really good at helping and guiding us through the experience. We made 5 different curries - Lovely people 10/10

  This is a must-do experience, Irosha and her mother was very accomodation and nice! We learned 4 different curries and coconut sambol and this was the best Sri Lanka food we have tried in our 4 weeks here! The whole set in beautiful surroundings. 10/10 ❤️

  Incredible experience, they talked us through all the ingredients, what makes them special and truly Sri Lankan. Mom and Irosha were so friendly and welcoming, also giving us lots of local tips. We absolutely loved it and was some of the best food we’ve eaten on our trip so far, highly recommend

  We had the best time! We learned so much about traditional flavors, how locals cook, and how to make a quick curry. The food was fresh and delicious. The mom and daughter duo are also the nicest people. It was absolutely pouring rain during our class and we’d brought our dirty laundry with us after the laundromat we intended to stop at on the way was closed. They let keep our laundry there to pick up in the morning so it didn’t get even more wet and gave us umbrellas to borrow as well. 10/10 experience - we’d definitely recommend picking this class!

  We happened upon this class while walking to Little Adam's Peak. We climbed some steps to check it out and upon seeing the little outdoor kitchen, equipped with a fire pit and miris gala, we were sold. Kamala Aunty and her daughter, Irosha, are fantastic teachers. Knowledgeable and hospitable, they guided us through making 5 different curries/sambals and frying poppadoms. We has the opportunities to use a coconut scraper, miris gala, mortar and pestle, clay pots, and cook over a fire. We learned a lot about the inner workings of Sri Lankan cusine, comprehensive explanations and advice were given at every step. Even being Sri Lankan, I learned new takes on familiar dishes. We left the experience with many recipes and the techniques to recreate them. We felt right at home in their beautiful kitchen, chatting, cooking, and eating. Every single dish was fantastic. It felt like such a blessing to find such a genuine experience amidst the tourist trap of Ella.

  Genuine highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka. Lovely to get to know Irosha and her family- worth the money. Great way to spend an evening and get to know more about food and cooking. Class was well organised and engaging. Walking distance from Ella with amazing view for Sunset. Would 100% recommend.
