We had an absolutely incredible experience at Graceland in Memphis, thanks to the Ultimate VIP Tour with John. John was fantastic—so knowledgeable, so passionate, and he shared so many captivating stories about Elvis and the mansion itself. You could really feel the spirit of Elvis in the house—John kept his memory alive in such a powerful way. The tour lasted about 3 to 4 hours, so definitely wear comfortable shoes! I can’t recommend it enough—it was a day to remember!

A visit to Graceland was an included excursion in our Memphis pre-cruise itinerary on the Viking Mississippi. We exited the expressway onto to Elvis Presley Boulevard, except the “E” was missing from the sign, making it “lvis Presley Blvd”. The Guest House at Graceland provides on-site hotel accommodation for visitors who want to stay close.. We entered from the huge parking lot thru a white gate and walked up into the ticketing area where we got our entry pass, a map of the 13 acres of grounds and directed into a theatre for a short video. Then we hopped on a bus to the front steps of Graceland Mansion, named after the original owner’s aunt, and unchanged by Elvis. There are five steps up to the front door but no railing. Only the main floor and basement are open to the public – ‘jungle’ room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom and office then down dark stairs to the bar/rec room. Outside buildings house awards and trophies. At the rear of the house is a swimming pool and meditation garden where Elvis is buried. Shuttle buses take you to other theme park areas like The Lisa Marie aircraft is parked along with a smaller business jet, cars, clothes, and memorabilia collections, gift shops and places to eat. There are gift shops at various places on site, but it is best to buy your mementos when you exit (near the ticket office where you entered) to avoid carrying them around with you. At the start of your visit you can have your photo taken and later you can buy a montage of ‘you’ in front of various Graceland locations. Cost? Forty dollars.

It was awesome but the tour guide wasn't good. She was way too slow and how other people said, she just reads whats already on the wall for you to read. So its a waste of money and actually draws out the tour to be several hours which is not neccessary.

Our Tupelo day trip from the Guesthouse at Graceland was fabulous. Our tour guide was great and very knowledgeable and we had a nice lunch stop at Bulldog Burger. We really enjoyed everything there was to see at Elvis’ Birthplace including the museum, church service, statues and reflecting pond. They had a great gift shop as well. We also made stops at the Tupelo Hardware Company where Gladys bought Elvis’ first guitar, the Tupelo fairgrounds to see his statue and the visitor center. Highly recommend!
