Not only is the castle and its gardens superb, but during the visit to the exhibition we were amazed at the number of grand masters on display. Not only can you admire the variations of Gustave Klimt's work up to the "Kiss", but the latter is very well surrounded. I would just mention Monet, Manet, Egon Schiele, Friedrich Schönn, Munch and even a Van Gogh, sorry for the others. Must see.

Went on a very wet, cold and windy Sunday. It was very busy and timed entry. We had to wait in long lines waiting for earlier lines to go in. It was worth it though. Nice and warm inside. You get really close to the art work. Thrilled to see The Kiss and other artwork by Gustav Klimt

Belvedere Palace is a place that perfectly combines baroque elegance, art and history. Originally the summer residence of the Prince Eugene of Savoy, it is now one of the most important museums in the city. The gardens are beautiful, symmetrical and relaxing, while inside the museum impresses especially for Gustav Klimt’s works, especially The Kiss, which is even more intense live. Very suggestive also Die armen und die reichen Kinder by Franz von Defregger: the light is vibrant and realistic, and makes the contrast between wealth and poverty even stronger.

Definitely worth it if you want to see Klimt...otherwise honestly I think it's overrated, if you don't care about Schiele and Klimt, I would say no...you can just enter and cross the residence in the gardens. Definitely NOT worth the lower Belvedere, a thief to see almost nothing, nothing relevant. In the former stables and former orangeries there is nothing, temporary exhibitions and base, I would not go back

Without any significant waiting time, we were given access to the exhibition on Saturdays. Interested parties should calculate 2hours for the visit regardless of the pleasant garden ambience

We visited Belvedere Palace mainly to see Klimt, but ended up being just as impressed by the rest of the collection. Seeing originals is always so amazing. The palace itself is absolutely beautiful—both inside and out—with stunning architecture and perfectly kept gardens. Event in winter it is stunning. One of the most special parts of visiting is seeing Klimt’s “The Kiss” in person—it’s truly captivating and something you can’t fully appreciate until you’re standing right in front of it.

Overwhelmed by the place. First impression was the garden and outside. Truely magnificent. But once you got inside, you almost forgotten the splendour which you just experienced. The the works of art were truely amazing. I spent almost 1,5 hour on the first floor and could easily have spent more. Hastened a little bit through the exhibitions on the ground and 2.floor. was very impressed of Klimts works, but there were other work of arts, which were truely inspiring and mouthcapturing. Will visit it again, when I come back to Wien.

At this time of year you lose the benefit of the gardens which are in a ‘maintenance condition’ and so not very impressive. On the flip side I guess early year walking around the palace is easier and not so full of the instagram mob. If you like art, art and more art with less emphasis on the palace architecture then this is a good couple of hours with the inevitable draw of posing by a Klimt masterpiece!
