Ancient City of Ephesus
you visit to archaeological open air museum Ephesus which is known as one of the largest and well-preserved Greco-Roman ancient city. It can be said clearly Ephesus one of the most beautiful ancient city in the world. The city was foremost commercial center of the antiguity with its harbor which is located on the Aegean coast. Being witness is priceless that Ephesus was foremost in the world before its coast was silted up by the river which is located nearby of it. Because of that Ephesus is approximately 8 kms away from aegean coast to day.
Meryemana (The Virgin Mary's House)
Next stop is to visit The House of Virgin Mary, the place where it is believed that she had spent last years of her life. It is considered that St. John brought Virgin Mary to Ephesus after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and that a small house was built for her on Bulbul Mountain. On July 26, 1967, Pope Paul VI visited The House of Virgin Mary and declared one of the pilgrimage center.

5.00Amazing day in Kusadasi! Having Ata as a guide was a treat. He was able to tour us through Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary and gave us all the relevant information in such a short period of time. He brought us to different parts of Ephesus, made sure we were able to avoid the crowds while still getting the best views, and gave us a lot of time to take photos. We had a lovely lunch with traditional Turkish food and Ata showed us what to eat first and how. He was pleasant to talk to and he had a lot of anecdotes to share. He also taught us basic Turkish phrases and was very patient with our pronunciations. Ata made sure we would be back at the port on time, as we only had a few hours in Kusadasi. Only wish we had more time, especially in Ephesus. Thank you to Best of Ephesus and Gizem, who was very responsive and made sure we were able to see multiple sights despite the short time we had. Would also recommend requesting for Ata as your guide!

5.00We got Atakan as our guide today. He is professional, on time and very patient. Our 1st stop was Ephesus - thankfully we got there before the crowd. Atakan took his time to give us basic info of the site and gave us ample time to go around for photos. He makes very funny side comments which made the trip more interesting and left us laughing. He is also respectful to other guides and guests and chooses to bring us to photo stops since he noticed we liked those and not spots with very heavy foot traffic. We also saw the house of Virgin Mary and I very much appreciated his inputs despite him practicing a different religion from us. He is polite and accommodating. He also taught us very helpful local words over lunch. Booking with Gizem is very easy and hassle free. We highly recommend this shore excursion. Kudos to Atakan!
