Most people would adore the opportunity to stand 8,848 meters above sea level on Mount Everest in an ideal world. Realistically, the most of us won't be able to accomplish this! However, if you have good physical condition and a strong will to succeed, you can reach Everest Base Camp! And if you ask me, Kalapatthar offers the most breathtaking Everest views you can see without having to spend weeks slogging up to the summit.

Lukla
Due to changes in the regulations and upgrading at the domestic airport in Kathmandu, flights to Lukla will likely operate out of Manthali Airport in Ramechhap District. This involves a four-hour drive from Kathmandu during the night. The flight from Manthali will depart early in the morning and take 20 minutes. Catch the mountain flight to Lukla, enjoying stunning views of the Himalayas. Meet the Sherpas and begin the trek to Phakding. The mountain flight into Lukla is spectacular and the landing an exciting beginning to the trek – one end of the runway is 60m (197ft) higher than the other. The flight is on a small Dornier / Twin Otter flight and flight duration is generally around 25 – 30 minutes.
Phakding
Walk through Chauri Kharka village and descend towards the Dudh Koshi river. The scenic trail follows the bank of the river until Phakding(2,610m), a small Sherpa village nestled in the verdant Dudh Koshi Valley. En route, you get a glimpse of Khumbila, a sacred peak worshipped by the Sherpas. This is one of the few unclimbed peaks in the Khumbu region as no one is allowed to step on this sacred peak. If you are not too tired, stroll around the village and interact with the locals or head to one of the cafes and enjoy a hot brew or a drink. Overnight in Phakding.
Accommodation: Teahouse
Namche Bazaar
Set off to Namche Bazaar, better known as the “Sherpa capital” of Nepal. The track crosses over the milky glacial river of Dudh Koshi. Walk above a suspension bridge, and the beautiful pine forest up to Monjo. You get to cross several suspension bridges including the famous Hillary Suspension bridge! Get your permits ready for a check after approaching the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. Trek further down alongside to Dudh Koshi River up to Jorsale where we have lunch. After some rest, it is a bit of a tough climb up the hill till Namche Bazaar, the economic hub of Everest Region. Brace yourself as you catch the first glimpse of Mount Everest in all its glory from a vantage point known as Tope Danda. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Namche Bazaar
It is time to acclimatize at Namche Bazaar itself. We recommend you to explore Namche Bazaar, as this town hosts numerous wifi-linked cafes and restaurants, souvenirs, and gear shops. We have several hiking options - such as visiting Hillary School, Sherpa settlement, Syangboche Airport, and yak farms. If you are passionate about Everest, you should not miss hiking up to Everest View Hotel, from where you can catch the breathtaking views of Mt. Everest.
Hidden on a ridge overlooking the Everest range, Hotel Everest View is a remarkable establishment that blends gracefully with its spectacular surrounding. Situated within the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park in Nepal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the hotel offers a 360 degree view of the awe inspiring peaks. With a view of Mt. Everest from every room, visitors can immerse in this mesmerizing scene in luxury.
Syangboche Airport is a domestic airport located in Namche Bazaar serving Solukhumbu District, a district in Province No. 1 in Nepal. The airstrip is the closest airstrip to Mount Everest and Everest Base Camp. However, it is not often used by those going to either as this is generally not viewed as consistent with safe, reasonably paced elevation acclimatization. Rather, typical users of this airstrip are tourists who plan on visiting a nearby hotel and going no higher or those who plan only on going to Namche Bazaar.

Today’s trail offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan ranges. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kwangde are some of the Himalayan giants you will see while you trek. The walk through juniper and rhododendron forests with the giant peaks looming overhead makes this a memorable hike. Today’s trek ends at the Sherpa village of Tengboche. One can enjoy a close view of Ama Dablam, renowned as one of the most beautiful peaks in the world, from Tengboche. Tengboche Monastery, the largest Buddhist monastery in the Khumbu region, looms over the village. Visit the monastery and feel the calmness of the place descend over you. Listen to the trance-inducing hum and chants of the monks. Dingboche
We take day off in Dingboche to acclimatize to the high altitude. A popular stop for trekkers and climbers headed to Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, or ImjaTse, there’s a lot to do here. After breakfast take an acclimatization hike to Nagarjun Hill(5100m) that lies close to the village. It is an upward hike with no technical sections. There may be some loose rocks and you may have to watch your step as you scramble on some sections. But no technical climbing is required and apart from the altitude, there's nothing you need to worry about. Named after a Buddhist hermitage that lies on the hill, Nangkatshang or Nagarjun is one of the best viewpoints in the Khumbu region. One can enjoy incredible 360-degree views of Makalu, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kantega, Thamserku, etc. The best views are of Ama Dablam (one can see the whole mountain, from the base to the summit) and Island Peak. You can also get a close-up view of the Imja glacier from here. You can take rest or stroll around the village.

We continue to climb as we are heading to the village of Lobuche which is located at the foot of giant Lobuche peak. Some breathing problems may arise today due to the altitude.

Walking Distance: 7-8 hours (12 km) trek This is a big and difficult day walk along the Khumbu Glacier and up to Everest Base Camp at 5,365 m, the closest you can get to Mt. Everest without mountaineering equipment. During spring, there will likely be expedition teams about to attempt the summit. The view of the Khumbu Icefall from Base Camp is spectacular. It is found at an elevation of 5,164 metres (16,942 ft) elevation, near Mount Everest. The village is not inhabited year-round. Even though trekking lodges at Gorak Shep are basic, in recent times more modern amenities have become available, such as satellite high-speed internet access.
There are two base camps on Mount Everest, on opposite sides of the mountains: South Base Camp is in Nepal at an altitude of 5,364 metres (17,598 ft) (28°0′26″N 86°51′34″E), while North Base Camp is in Tibet, China at 5,150 metres (16,900 ft) (28°8′29″N 86°51′5″E). The base camps are rudimentary campsites at the base of Mount Everest that are used by mountain climbers during their ascent and descent; they are also visited by hikers. South Base Camp is used when climbing via the southeast ridge, while North Base Camp is used when climbing via the northeast ridge.

Kala Patthar
After breakfast head towards Kala Patthar, the most popular viewpoint in the Everest Region. Kala Patthar is the highest point of your trek at 5550 meters. Since the summit of Mount Everest is not visible from Everest Base Camp, trekkers usually hike to Kala Patthar to get a close-up view of the world’s tallest peak. Kala Patthar is surrounded by icy walls of Mount Pumori, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse. Enjoy a 360-degree view of these Himalayan giants. Watch the fiery rays of the sun lighting the rocky pinnacle of Mount Everest from atop the Kala Patthar. Later, return to Gorak Shep and head down towards Pheriche. Overnight in Pheriche.

I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience in the Himalayas than Accessible adventures! By the time I left Nepal the company felt like a family! ❤️ They provided amazing service, great comms while I was in New Zealand and once we arrived in Nepal they were attentive to us and highly responsive to weather situations that almost meant we couldn’t make the trek - but thanks to Himal and the team we did! The trek to EBC was challenging, beautiful and life changing. I miss it everyday. Our guide, Shiva, went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and that things went at our pace. During the whole trek, we always said we were so lucky to have Shiva as our guide and that the trek wouldn’t have been the same without him. I could not recommend this company enough! They made the experience happy and positive and were so wonderful. I miss Nepal and the team at accessible adventures very much! I would pick them again in a heartbeat!!

We did the Everest Base Camp, Chola Pass and Gokyo Ri and it was amazing! The views are all great, but i definitely recommand this agency: we were a big group and they handeled very well the airport transfers, the hotel was great, the porters and guides were very helpful, i liked everything. You can talk to them if you miss any piece of equipment and they are so eager to help you. If you want to do extra activities, they can also help you and you can feel safe and confortable. At the end of our stay they also gave us souvenir certificates, which was a great surprise! Thank you for everything, i will come back for other tours!

Trekking to Everest Base Camp at 5364m was the adventure of a lifetime! From crossing bouncy suspension bridges to sharing stories with my guide, Shiva, and soaking in epic Himalayan views, every step was unforgettable. The altitude tested our limits, but reaching base camp was pure magic. The physical challenge was immense, but the spiritual and emotional rewards were even greater. It was an unforgettable adventure of resilience, beauty, and self-discovery.
