Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. You will be picked up and transferred to the hotel. When you have had your time to settle in and freshen up after your long flight, you will be invited to visit our office for a briefing about your program. The evening is free at your own leisure. After breakfst at your hotel you will leave for sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. You can visit sacred Pashupatinath Temple and Swyambhunath, very ancient and essentially enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage sites. The biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhanath, from here we will drive to Nagarkot hill station (35 km / 1-hour 40-minute drive). Arrive and check into the resort/hotel. After getting refreshed walk around the village and enjoy the view of the valley with the Himalayan ranges. Enjoy the view of the sunset in the golden panoramic Himalayas. Overnight hotel at Nagarkot.

This day involves waking up in the early morning hours in order to watch the spectacular sunrise over the Himalayan range. The first rays of the sun firing the peaks glowing a multitude of pink, gold and red hues as it slowly lights up the Himalayas becomes extremely beautiful. Drive back to Kathmandu en route continuing with sightseeing of Bhaktapur the city of Devotees and also visit Patan Durbar square the city of arts. Arrive in Kathmandu and check into the hotel. The evening is free for you to go shopping / personal activities. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

5.00As Canadians, we were hesitant to book with an “unknown” company but our Everest experience with Puru and Above the Himalayas was perfect. Puru was an excellent communicator and was anxious to help us develop the perfect visit to Mt Everest. With our input, he designed a custom visit within our budget that checked off all of our interests. Our guides, hotels, pilots, flight schedules and his recommendations were excellent. If you’re thinking about visiting Everest as an experienced climber or for sightseeing, Above the Himalayas will make your dreams come true. Ours did!

5.00A very last minute decision to visit Nepal for the first time, and 2 days later I was received by Puru at Kathmandu airport, with a 5 day itinerary planned at short notice. As a single female traveller in Nepal, the company has made me feel safe throughout the journey from Kathmandu all the way to Everest View hotel. All logistics were taken care of swiftly and efficient, from domestic flight, to a lovely 4 day trek with Sitaram (he is very caring and paces the speed well according to how quick or slow I can go) to a private helicopter flight above the Khumbu icefall right next to Mt Everest. Well executed planning, given the last minute cancellations that can happen in Nepal, Puru was able to make sure things go accordingly. In a short 2 hours, we went from Everest view on a chopper, landed at Kala Patthar, rushed down the valley to Lukla where the domestic plane was waiting to bring us back to Kathmandu. A big shout out to Sitaram and Puru, who made the spontaneous adventure possible and safe!

5.00Excellent arrangements, comfortable stay, memorable times!Puru was an excellent organizer and the visits to Chutwain forest reserve and various temples and wonderfully views of the sunrise on the mountains was fabulous.Hotels were clean,safe, comfortable and food was great.
Honest, knowledgeable service even during pandemic.

5.00One always worries whether a trekking company is being honest and how much their markup is, but Puru Timalsena and Above the Himalayas were straightforward, honest, told me where not to spend extra though it would have benefitted him, and did great follow up. I have used Above the Himalayas for two trips, the first in 2019 to visit Upper Mustang for the Tiji festival and the second in November 2020 for the Everest/Khumbu region. As I was living in Nepal, I tried initially to do some of the groundwork for myself, but with someone as knowledgeable as Puru at the helm, that was a mistake. He even helped us out on a hotel I tried to arrange on my own and helped us gather reliable information on how to get my wife back to Nepal during the pandemic after she had to leave with only a regular tourist visa. In both cases, he helped without any additional commission on his side, which you wouldn’t readily find in a country like Nepal. His arrangements and advice were always spot on. I highly recommend Above the Himalayas.

I must say, the trip along with all the activities are so well organized and flawlessly planned. The impression with the services, advice, communication, greeting above the Himalaya team has imparted is praiseworthy. The Everest view is incredibly panoramic. What is more fascinating is the boredom easily avoidable, while being with this experienced and professional team. The managing director of Above the Himalaya Trekking company, Puru Timalsina, is always committed to providing us the best services so that our journey is made unforgettable.
