Learn to surf on the beaches of São Miguel in the Azores! Few people know that in Europe we have our own Hawaii. We are talking about the Azores Islands: an archipelago of nine islands in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean that is part of Portugal.
It's volcanic origin means that we find dreamlike cliffs, paradisiacal beaches and beautiful natural parks, some of them with thermal waters such as Terra Nostra Park. The capital of the Azores is São Miguel, an island that receives thousands of tourists every year looking for a change of scenery through its hiking trails or surfing. It's that the Azores, and São Miguel in particular, is one of the best places in Europe for surfing. If you've never surfed before, now's your chance to learn!

5.00Happened upon the surf shop on our trip to sao miguel last summer. They were so accommodating and rushed us in in time for the next available slot. Kids had a great time, instructor was great! Everyone who worked there was so friendly and so many cute things to buy in the surf shop itself (hydrangea foot and hand balm is amazing). Will def be back again :)

5.00Our family had a great instructor and the team was great overall. Our grown kids had various surfing skill levels and Constantine was wonderful working with all three of them. Brandon, Emma & Samantha loved every minute of it.

5.00We (4 people age 47,42,16,13) had 2 private surf lessons. We feel so lucky and happy, that we used Watergliders. We had Constantine as our guide. Such a pro guide and very nice personality. We had a great time. We will remember this and recommend to everyone. Thanks 🙏 Family from Denmark

The two instructors put us through a good warm up on the beach before dividing up the group (total group of 7 including my husband and I) and teaching us the positions and strategies on the board on land. Then we got in the water and the instructors helped us catch waves! They were encouraging and cheered us on even when we were terrible ha. Awesome experience for two people who have only surfed one other time!
