Our certified biologists or interpreter guides will offer you a great educational adventure. At the established time our transporter will pick you up at the meeting point in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. About an hour will pass by and you will arrive at the area where our guides will receive you, provide you with the necessary protective equipment for cave exploration (helmet, lamps and life jackets) and explain the tour agenda and safety rules. You will walk for 15 minutes and arrive at Las Cuevas de Arenales where you will swim in a small canyon formed by the passage of water. We will continue our tour and you will be able to take an adrenaline-filled jump into the water to enter the underground world of the Charco Azul Caves. There you will see a waterfall and the formations created by minerals and water through the limestone rock where the caves are formed. We will return to the car to go to lunch and arrive at a paradisiacal beach where you can cool off. Return to the meeting point.

My partner and I took this tour at the beginning of October. It truly was one of the more enjoyable and unique experiences I’ve ever had. Joseph was an incredible guide. He educated us on the local flora and fauna, as well as the history of the island. If you are looking for a more mindful way to explore Puerto Rico, this is the tour to take. We will be using this company next time we get to visit!

Albert was the best! He was able to pick us up directly to our hotel, which was amazing. He was clear, organized, and had great communication with us right from booking. He was SO knowledgeable about everything, from plants to animals to Puerto Rican history. The caves were incredible! We jumped off a cliff to get to the cave, which made it more of an adventure. Swimming through a cave is something that everyone should check off their bucket list. We then went out to a local restaurant for delicious chicken and beef stew with rice. Albert took us to a beach afterwards that was off the beaten trail and absolutely stunning.

We had a fantastic time with Albert! I chose this tour based off of the praises other reviewers posted. Would highly recommended! Such a kind and knowledgable guide. He was always looking and listening in the nature which really helped us be more attuned to the environment. Also an amazing delish lunch place! Take this tour, you won’t regret it!

This place was very interesting. I would highly recommend it. Our tour guide was very professional and also taught us a lot about the plants, animals and history of the area. There are a lot of rocks to jump off of if you choose to do so .

One of the best tours in Puerto Rico! Albert with NaturHabitat Ecotours has years of experience and knowledge to offer throughout the entire tour. We first stopped at Cuevas Arenas and Charco Azul where we were given all the safety gear which made us feel very prepared. On the walk to each of the caves, Albert would teach us about the different plants and animals we would see or hear. He would explain how to get over the rocks which I really appreciated as I was traveling with my parents and my mom has a bad knee, but she was able to do everything with Albert’s instructions. Swimming through the caves was amazing. Pictures don’t do it justice. Definitely a must see! We stopped at a delicious local place for lunch then headed to the beach. The adventure continued at the beach as we climbed on the rocks and walked through a small forest to get to the Cueva de las Golondrinas. The waves crashing and the view was beautiful. It was a great way to end the trip. 100% recommend this tour especially with Albert.

This tour was amazing. The area we got to see with our tour guild was great. The Tour guild was very knowledgably about the area, the wildlife and the history of the area. If you can afford to do this it is well worth the money and if I had to go to those areas I would do it the same way. I have nothing but good things to say about this.

This was such an amazing experience! Amazing nature, really quite an adventer! Albert was everything you could hope for from a tour guide. Everyone in our family highly recommend this tour. It was the highlight of our trip.

Alberto was the perfect guide. He is knowledgeable about local flora and fauna. He added just enough of that to the tour and I really enjoyed it. As for the caves, it was AMAZING! The whole experience exceeded my expectations and was one of the most wonderful things I’ve ever experienced. It was a little outside my comfort zone, but Alberto was so kind and considerate and safety conscience that I felt completely comfortable. The Crystal Clear Water Beach was wonderful. Many beaches have the sand churning up and it’s unpleasant to wade or swim in. This one was clean with very little garbage like many on the island and the water really was clear. I played for hours! I highly recommend this tour with this tour guide. It a must do on your vacation to Puerto Rico.

We were in San Juan for a few days after our cruise and booked this tour based on a local friend’s recommendation. There are several reasons you should book this tour as well. First, communication! Albert is quick to respond to my questions and concerns. Second, flexibility! Albert was able to make a slight adjustment to our pick up time and to pick us up outside his normal area. It wasn’t too far out of his way, though, and it’s not like he can list every hotel in San Juan for pick up. But that goes back to communication… ask and he’ll respond within a day. Third, safety! Albert outfitted us with knee pads, life jackets, helmets and headlamps. The other tour guides had only life jackets for their groups. When climbing over the rocks at the waterfalls, Albert was very clear about where to place your feet and hands. He even gave different route possibilities based on our level of fitness and comfort. Fourth, knowledge! Albert has been doing this tour for about 10 years but he’s been coming to these caves since he was a boy. He knows all the flora and fauna and goes slowly to point out everything of interest. He even stops to listen to the birds and frogs. In addition to the current nature of the area, he’s also highly knowledgeable in the Puerto Rican and Taino culture. Now, you will get completely soaked. We used waterproof cases with lanyards for our phones and left everything else in the truck. Really sturdy water shoes might be okay but solid lace up tennis shoes that you don’t mind getting wet are a better choice. We brought shoes that we were planning to throw away so we didn’t worry about wet shoes in our luggage. After 3 to 3 1/2 hours on the cave and river part of our tour, we used the facilities to change into dry clothes and drove to lunch. Yum! Bar B Que! After lunch we drove to the second part of our tour (the beach and coastal forest walk) but our tour was on Presidents Day and EVERYBODY in San Juan was at the beach. We couldn’t find a parking spot at the planned beach. So, flexibility! We asked Albert to take us to a different, less crowded beach. [Note: Try to plan this excursion during the week and NOT on a National Holiday!] Going to a different beach worked out really well because there was another shallow DRY cave with bats and petroglyphs left by the Taino people. He knew where to find them all and what they signified. We had the option to stay at the beach for 30 minutes or longer but we are not beachy people and it was HOT in the sun even in Mid February. We left our hotel at 7:30 and Albert dropped us off at 4:15 as we had requested. If you don’t have time for a whole day excursion, you could ask for just the cave tour and be done in 4 or 5 hours.
