This is the only tour in Chicago that explores the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" from the perspective of art. It's also the only walking tour that immerses you in the actual artwork featured in the 1986 American teen film. Over the course of the tour, you'll visit 3 floors of the museum, see 16 pieces of art, and leave with an appreciation of the works, their relationship to characters, and their placement in the camera's frame.
⚠️ NOTE: Admission to the Art Institute of Chicago is NOT included in the public walking tour. The tour starts under the stairs in the *Modern Wing* of the Art Institute, Griffin Court.
Guests must digitally sign a general waiver of liability. Guardians must sign waivers for children under the age of 18.

The Art Institute of Chicago
You'll start with a 5-minute history of the Art Institute of Chicago. Then, you'll spend the rest of your tour moving in and out of galleries, looking at the artwork featured in the movie 'Ferris Bueller’s Day Off' and hearing facts, stories, and quotes about the 1986 American teen comedy. In total, you'll visit 3 floors of the museum, see 16 pieces of art, and leave with an appreciation of the works, their relationship to characters, and their placement in the camera's frame. 5.00We had a fantastic time with Kelly seeing all the familiar art sites from the movie we know and love. Her breadth of knowledge about art and film was evident and she was so well prepared with video clips, quotes from various people involved with the movie, and efficient move through the building ending with the Chagall windows. Highly recommend for fans of the movie or newbies—a great quick move around the museum!

5.00We spent a day in Chicago and we did the “Art of Ferris Bueller” tour by Chicago Movie Tours and it was amazing! Kelli is very engaging and knowledgeable about the city of Chicago, the Art Institute where the tour took place, and the movie itself! We learned so many new things! If you visit Chicago, you should absolutely take one of her tours because she’s a great tour guide and she’s passionate about her subject matter! 10/10 recommend! 😊

5.00This was more than just pointing out pictures and sculptures that were in Ferris Bueller. Kelli really dove deep into explaining why John Hughs selected this museum and art for the scenes. Kelli took pictures for us and encouraged discussion among all of us. This was definitely a highlight and brought this museum to a whole new level. If you haven’t seen the film in a long time she even had the scenes and showed them to us to refresh our memories. I would highly recommend this tour. Save time afterwards to explore the rest of the museum.

5.00Kelli was an absolute amazing tour guide. As a Ferris Bueller fan, I loved how she went into history of Chicago and how it ties into the museum and the artwork chosen by the director, John Hughes. A lot of history and culture was imbedded into this tour. Truly an experience I wish I can relieve over and over again.

5.00Such a fun tour for both my daughter and me. Kelli is extremely knowledgeable about so many facets of Ferris Bueller & The Art Institute. This tour ranked right up there with the Architecture Tour for my soon to be college film student and me. Highly, highly recommend!!
