5.00We made a double tour with Thabo: visiting Johannesburg ‘s art galleries and exploring Street art, walking in the town. He’s very competent talking inart and town’s history. We appreciated parts of Johannnesburg that probably we would have never visited! A very good experience for everyone!

Our family have been guided by Thabo twice, the most recent was a walking art tour of Maboneng - the smiles, the high fives, the access to amazing spaces, beautiful and innovative urban art and going into the studios to meet artists, to see them crafting and just living their purpose - highlight of the year! 5.00Our tour with Thabo was one of the VREY BEST ART TOURS we have ever experienced: Thabo is passionate about art, passionate about connecting people to art, passionate about sharing his wide and deep knowledge of (South- ) African Art. He obviously asseses his guests quickly and correctly and allows for exactly the things one is interested in, never rushing or giving the feeling, that it would be time to move on. Exactly what ist right for the guest is his obvious aim - very individual tour! He pointed out details we might have missed, had humerous anectodes to completment the artwork and let us LEARN new views. Thank you, Thabo for 3 (and more) hours of good feelings. We highly recommend Thabo! HIGHLY!!!!!!

5.00The tour with Thabo is one of the BEST art tours we have experienced so far: passionate and committed, highly knowledgeable and thus educational, individual and yet always group-oriented. It was the many details Thabo passed on, as well as his “burning” for contemporary art, that made the 3 hours a special experience. Since every art tour is different (should be) we will book Thabo again on the next Johannesburg stay.

5.00I met with Thabo at a coffee shop near the galleries in Rosebank and it was very easy to connect with him. He took me to the best galleries in Johannesburg I like his ability to see the details from the artwork that I might have missed on my own and his personal connection with galleries and artists. Clearly this is what he was called to do, his passion shined through out the tour. Indeed this is a must do art tour in Jozi!

5.00Thabo is an excellent guide and companion for a day of gallery hopping in Joburg. We met at a nice, easy to find coffee spot in a lovely area where we had a coffee before walking to several nearby galleries. Thabo knew the gallery staff, owners (if present) and exhibits well, and we chatted and asked questions about the gallery, artists and works. Thabo is very flexible and caters on the fly to your tastes and interests. Although our allotted time was almost up, Thabo sensed I wanted to see more, so we hopped a local minibus taxi for a few blocks to another set of galleries in a more bustling area, ending up at a gorgeous artist-owned shop with beautifully curated pan-African and local modern crafts. As a solo female first-time-in-Joburg traveler, it was a great way to spend a relaxing day getting a sense of the art scene and a little holiday shopping, too.
