On this tour, the boat ride through Folly Beach's most pristine marshlands is a must do and an adventure in itself. Along the way, your captain will teach you about our local estuary and the wildlife that inhabit it. You will get to see many variety of birds and other sea creatures including our resident bottlenose dolphins! Once at Morris you will be able to enjoy the island, look for various sea shells that scatter the area, and take in the stunning views of the historic lighthouse! You will get to explore the barrier island for approximately 1 hour before getting back on the boat.
This tour can be enjoyed by the whole family and is the ultimate saltwater experience in Charleston!
(This is not a fossil hunting trip - if you are interested in shark teeth, contact us directly!)

Morris Island Lighthouse
Once your feet hit the sand on Morris, an uninhabited barrier island In Charleston, you can shell hunt, soak up the sun on the beach, take in the picturesque views of the historic lighthouse and explore the island for yourself. You will be on the island for approximately 1 hour.
You will be cruising through the tidal creeks, marshlands, and rivers behind Folly Beach on your way to and from Morris Island.

5.00My entire family not only found this trip enjoyable, but also educational. Our tour guide, Luke engaged all the patrons using various learning techniques to keep interest. I highly recommend this trip for all ages. Thank you for making our trip memorable! Our only regret is not experiencing the food truck food; we left that for our next visit 😊

5.00Our family had a great time on this trip. We learned about the estuary, saw lots of dolphins, and found loads of cool seashells. Our 6 year old loved finding neat shells. It was a bit of a walk to get to the part with the best shells, but even our 3 year old managed it fine. Wish we'd had a little more time on the island but it was a great experience overall.

5.00It was an excellent experience. Our guide Luke was super knowledgeable and you could tell he loves his job and the area! It was a great day! We learned about the waterways, plants, dolphins, birds. And saw lots of everything! Seeing the lighthouse and exploring the beach was a fun and relaxing experience to wrap up our vacation. Thanks for the tip on the shrimp tacos - they were great!

5.00This was such a fantastic experience! After the 1st day we’ve already recommend it to 2 locals who’ve said they’re going to check it out as well. If you’re on the fence about it don’t hesitate book it! You’ll have a once in a lifetime experience. From learning local and cultural history, to seeing dolphins, endless shelling and photo opportunities of the lighthouse. It’s such a wonderful time. Few tips others made that we took advice from. Wear your sun screen, take a bag to collect your shells in. Almost everyone wore a hat and none of them blew away (can’t guarantee this of course will be the same for all folks) They also have a cooler on board so we stuck our water bottles in them to stay cold. The only thing I wish is if they had Venmo to tip bc we didn’t bring as much cash as we’d liked to have given to show our appreciation for the fantastic service. And from time to time there is a food truck there for you to grab a quick bite before or after which we hit it up and our favorites were the grilled shrimp and the hush puppies are delicious most definitely worth getting!! Hope this helps you make the decision to book and enjoy!
