• Amazing to see glaciers up close!

  After bad weather prevented us from going up as planned, we were finally able to fly on the third attempt. The staff were very helpful in rescheduling which we very much appreciated. So glad not to have missed this - it was a fantastic experience. James, our pilot, pointed out the key features and shared some interesting facts. We were able to land on the snowfield and capture some amazing photographs. Would highly recommend!

  

  

  

• Crappy experience with The Helicopter Line and Glacial Tour Company

  The only reason they did as well as a two is because of the cloudless sky. What a money hungry / greedy company.!They stuff 7 adults, including the pilot into what was designed as a four passenger helicopter. The two people in the middle in the back are paying full price and getting a. Much worse experience. We could not even sit shoulder to shoulder in the back seat as there was not enough room. The guy to my right video recorded the whole flight with his phone in the middle of the glass so it was not possible to take photos on that side. The two passengers in the front did the same so no photos could be taken in that direction. Upon return, I asked to speak to the manager and she was too busy, so they took down my name and phone number. I did get a call back and upon answering, she hung up. I guess that means she called me back. I returned her call immediately only to have them take down my name and phone number again.

  A wonderful experience, specially the landing on the glacier itself. Recommend this for everyone at least once.

  Good Helicopter trip with friendly, helpful staff. We only had 4 people which was great, not sure I would have liked being on there with what I believe is the capacity of 6, that would be very cramped

• Have a plan B in case of poor weather.

  Due to bad weather we were unable to fly. Staff in office very helpful and rebooked us immediately on next morning. Unfortunately weathrr again prevented flight but stzff agaon fave us gpod advice to try a flight further south as we were travelling toward Queenstown. Have still not had flight due to weather but recommend everyone have a plan B in case of bad weather as this can occur anytime. Staff were excellent and offered alternatives.

  We loved the flight and our pilot. We spend a nice time on the glacier and loved the view. We had originally booked (and paid) for the spectactular tour around mount Cook but due to the wind we did a shorter flight. They informed us perfectly and gave us a partial refund for the shorter flight

  Great trip - good length of time in the air and on the glacier , pilot Simon was very knowledgeable, a must when in Franz Josef

  Fantastic experience especially if you haven't been to the snow or in a helicopter. The landing on the snow was spectacular and was plenty of time to take photos and throw a few snowballs. The pilot kept us entertained and made sure my 8yr old son was looked after.

  Fantastic experience from start to finish. Our pilot was incredibly friendly and professional, shared really interesting information throughout the flight, and made the whole experience both fun and reassuring. The views were absolutely stunning, and everything was perfectly organized. We would highly recommend Glacier Helicopters to anyone — truly unforgettable!
