We take you to the enchanting village of Giethoorn in the north of the Netherlands for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Known as the "Venice of North," the village is notable for its many canals and complete lack of roads. You will explore the fairytale village, where less than 3,000 people live, on a 1-hour guided boat tour. Experience the scenery on a leisurely trip through the canals. Explore the preserved village on foot, and see how each farmhouse is built on a small man-made island. Wander the narrow footpaths to discover hundreds of bridges, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the village.
Haven Volendam
Your trip will continue to the village of Volendam, where you can admire brightly painted wooden houses, and see locals wearing their colorful regional dress. Your guide will take you on a short walk through the Volendam harbor, one of the most popular tourist attraction in the village since 1875. This is a great place to pick up souvenirs and gifts for those at home or for yourself and to have photos taken in traditional Dutch costume in from one of many photo studios on the village.

5.00We had a great experience with our driver Noval. He had such a good attitude and energy and was very knowledgeable. It was a long day but the stopping points were interesting and we didn’t feel rushed at each stop. he gave us enough time and suggestions in each place. He was very attentive and made sure if we were running a bit late from our bathroom visit to wait for us. At the end of the tour back to Amsterdam it started raining and he was so kind to drop off the 2 families at their hotel so they didn’t get rained on. This was so generous and made us feel very cared for. I 100% recommend this tour and especially Noval. Our favorite was the town of Geinthoorn with the charming canal boat ride which lasted about 1 hour. And we got an hour to walk afterwards and have coffee etc. I can imagine it will be too crowded in the summer time but for April it was good.
