Embark on a thrilling day safari to Mikumi National Park, Tanzania's fourth-largest national park, where you'll have the opportunity to witness its diverse wildlife and natural beauty. The adventure begins with a flight from Zanzibar, followed by an exhilarating game drive through the park.

Your journey commences with a morning pick-up from your hotel, whisked away to the airport for your flight to Mikumi. Upon arrival, you'll embark on a shared safari game drive, guided by experienced drivers who will impart their extensive knowledge of the local fauna and terrain. As you traverse the park, you'll be treated to the sight of Tanzania's wildlife in their natural habitat.

As midday approaches, you'll indulge in a bush lunch amidst the wilderness before continuing your exploration of the park. In the afternoon, you'll return to the airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar. Upon landing, a transfer will be arranged to take you back to your hote.

During your safari in Mikumi National Park you will do a game drive and visit the wild animals up close. You will see the various ponds where you might catch animals drinking and hippopotamus or other inhabitans of the pond. During lunch you will remain close to nature with and incredible view.

Firstly I want to say Ernest was amazing, he was very engaged and informative on each animal and really shed light to us on different things about the animal we found intriguing. I give him personally 5 stars. Quick an easy flight to the safari also, no issues with that. The reason for my 3 stars is we were very disappointed in not seeing as much animals. I thought being in their environment, it would’ve been an experience like they would be coming up to the vehicle or we would be driving and seeing all these different beautiful species of animals we have never seen. I think we saw elephant, giraffes, zebra, antelope, 3 lions all day, two inside some bushes resting, one of which came out, the other stayed in the bushes and another far away under a tree resting we saw later in the afternoon. I personally saw more species of animals and the same set of animals at zoos. When we got back, one couple said the same thing, “we could’ve just went to the zoo” because we saw nothing spectacular, it was just alot of driving around seeking out animals vs just seeing a land filled with animals everywhere. Maybe it’s my fault of thinking this experience would’ve been like watching lion king, it definitely wasn’t. The overall experience was average, but the tour guide is who helped with the disappointment of not seeing many species of animals, even though we were seeing some of the same animals over and over that I listed earlier, he found a way to keep us engaged with new information on the animals.

I have seen the top 5👍 the tour provider is absolutely solid 👍 Zeta Tours is a professional provider and the prices are the same everywhere. 450.-$ in November 2025 for a day safari to Tanzania from Zanzibar. It is enough, in my opinion.

Absolutely fantastic day at Mikumi National Park and a pinch me moment indeed!! Our tour guide James was fantastic throughout and ensured we saw as much as we could all whilst teaching us so much about the animals! You never know what you will and won't see on a safari trip (the beauty of it really as you're in their home!) so the fact we managed to see all but Buffalos and Leopards was really fantastic! The organisation was superb and the lunch was really good too!! Highly recommend!!

*Wild Beauty at Mikumi National Park* Mikumi offers an unforgettable safari experience with wide open landscapes and incredible wildlife. We saw elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and even lions! The scenery is stunning, especially during sunrise and sunset. It's a perfect destination for first-time safari travelers or anyone looking for a peaceful, nature-filled adventure close to Dar es Salaam. Highly recommended!

The safari is very well planned and executed. Our guide Ernest was very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the animals. The scenery was beautiful and captivating and there were lots of animals to see. The only downside is the multiple vehicles all crowding around the animals - in our case, lions - which was quite distressing.

Was superbly organised trip, with pick up exactly on time,with pleasant welcoming driver, Who was amazing and got us to airport on time against massive traffic problems The flight And rest of the trip was amazing. The safari guide,driver went out of his way to try and find all the amazing animals in the reserve. Was def well worth the trip and amazing to see in there natural enviroment

Great trip, landing a small plane in the middle of the nature park. What an experience. Seen a lot of animals, elephants, lions, monkeys, zebras, giraffes, hippos etc. Lunch in a clearing (rice, meat, beans etc) really delicious.
