Cat Ba National Park is located in Cat Ba island and recognized by UNESCO as a world biosphere reserve with a rich and unique landscape. The area includes tropical humid forests, wetlands, mangroves, and coral reef ecosystem types . The easiest way to explore the amazing beauties of Cat Ba island is by trekking from Cat Ba town through the jungle, see wild animals and exploring the local life, by this route to Viet Hai Village and then take a boat back. This tour will be an adventure from Cat Ba town and also is an interesting experience you should try.

Cat Ba National Park

8h00 - 8h20: Our bus and tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cat Ba town and start the journey to Cat Ba national park. 9:00. Arrival National Park, Our tour guide will help you to take the entrance tickets and start hiking from the entry of Cat Ba national park. On the way we will pass 3 peaks named : Ang Vat, May Bau, Ang Phay where we can take a short break in 5-10 minutes for taking pictures, and experiencing the diversity of the viewpoint. The route to Frog Pond will take around 2.5 hours. En route is the chance for enjoying bird watching, sightseeing in the primary forest.

11:30. You will arrive at Frog Pond – the largest freshwater lake on Cat Ba island. You will see hundreds of Va Nuoc trees growing on the water, you will only see this kind of tree here in the whole Cat Ba national park. Frog Pond is also known with about 400 large and small islands and 130 small golden sand beaches. All creating a beautifully natural picture, and located on the route trans-forest from the national park center to Viet Hai village. 12:00. After a 30 minute break we will keep going to Viet Hai village (around 4 km more). The way from here to Viet Hai village will be easy going as there is no uphill any more, the path is mostly downhill and flat.

We had the best day at this tour with our guide Hana. She and the rest of the crew were amazing: friendly and very helpful with everything. Hana was very knowledgeable about all the places we visited and we especially appreciated her knowledge about the nature and history of the place. She made us feel so welcome! The boat was very spacious, clean and with a nice atmosphere. We were quite a small group of around 15 people, which was very nice.

Hana was an excellent tour guide. She has a great sense of humour. The kayaking and swimming were fun. The scenery beautiful. Totally worth it. I highly recommend getting Hana, for her humour.

Guides Hana and Joy accompanied us through the activities of the whole day explaining the nature and history of the bay with much competence and sympathy. Available to our every need, they were two truly exceptional guides. The activities of the tour are varied and very fun: from kayaking to cooking class and everything is impeccably organized. Highly recommended for those who want to spend a day among the beauties of Lan Ha Bay.

Beautiful scenery and really fun activities. The hosts for the day Hana and Joey were very friendly and funny. They made the experience very enjoyable and the day ran very smoothly.
