  We had the opportunity to tour Goree Island and the city of Dakar with Oumar as our guide and companion for the day. His English language skills are exceptional and after 25+ years as a local guide, he has an immense knowledge of Dakar and the area in general. You can tell that he is also passionate about what he does and that it is important for him that you leave with positive views of Dakar and its history, (along with a great meal at a local restaurant that he includes). If you intend to visit Dakar then I suggest you immediately reach out to Oumar and arrange for him to be your guide for the day.

  We had a great day with our guide. He made sure we left early to catch the early ferry to avoid the evening congestion. Goree was a very moving place but also beautiful. Lunch on Goree was nice also. We did a city tour afterwards and that was great as well. Highly recommend this tour.

  It was a fantastic experience. Oumar was a fantastic guide. I highly recommend his services. Don't book a shore excursion via the cruise ship, when you can have this instead.
