• Best Safari with kids

  We travelled as a family of two adults, two grandparents and two small kids (a toddler and a baby) and joined Ashley from The Little Bush Baby Company on two full day safaris. The first safari was the Full-Day Family Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park experience and the second safari was the Full-Day Isimangaliso Wetland Park Beach and Bush experience. All I can say is that both day were excellent. As a family we've been on many safari's both in SA and in other African countries and Ashley was a wonderful host. His knowledge of the particular ecosystems, animals, plants was great and we learnt so many new things. His love for conservation was clear. To accommodate the kids, he was prepared with car seats, baby binoculars, and a closed vehicle (minibus) safe for driving with kids among the big game. He kept the kids entertained with fun activities, toys, snack boxes, and was a very attentive host making the experience fun for them too. My 5-year old loved the experience and even took home some safari books. On both days we were treated with curated picnics made up of homemade and local snacks, coffees, drinks. And on each day our lunches were prepared and served with great care. We literally just sat back and enjoyed our time. Thank you to Katie and Ashley!

  We had a great day family day driving around Hhluhluwe-Imfolozi park with Ashley. We were 4 adults and 3 kids and had an amazing experience in the big open car seeing the landscape and animals and learning lots. We had delicious breakfast and lunch too- with all options included.   We had two smashing days with Ashley. His knowledge and enthusiasm were fantastic. We were fascinated by the ants' nest that he showed us, though we refused to eat the supposedly tasty ants. Then it was the dung beatle, then it was the African spoonbill, then it was the cheetah and cubs feasting...you get the point. Ashley was a great guide and companion. Kudos to Katie who handled all the logistics and answered many of my emails.

  We had a phenomenal private tour with Ashley in this National Game Park. We saw so many animals, birds, insects, and flora. Ashley knew it all and educated us about all the indigenous species. He was so easy to talk to and didn’t make us feel as if any of our questions were silly. We learned so much and had a truly delightful day.

  Ashely, very knowledgeable about local flora and fauna. Available to the needs of the tourist. Our visit covered ISIMANGALISO water park. Early morning departure with breakfast by the sea, exciting. Leopard, buffalo and rhino seen as well as other animal species of the savannah and bush. Recommended to everyone!!!

  Thanks to Katie and Ashley! My husband and I booked the private safari and had an amazing day at the game reserve with lots of animal sightings. We enjoyed learning lots from Ashley with his excellent knowledge and he was very easy to talk to. Our little 19 month old daughter was very comfortable and entertained during the tour. The tour was well paced; we had breaks with meal provided for a picnic stop and snacks during the ride. We will recommend Little bush baby service without reservation anytime. Thanks again!

  Our family safari experience was absolutely amazing. It was quite possibly the best experience we had in South Africa. Ash, our guide, did a fantastic job of ensuring that our trip was toddler friendly while at the same time being informative and engaging for the adults. We learned so much on our Safari and were able to see so many animals (4 of the big 5 and many, many others.) Katie, Ashley's wife, had fantastic recommendations for what to do and see that would be toddler appropriate. We would highly recommend this company, especially for those traveling with young children.
